Position: PG
Height: 6'4
Weight: 195
Birthdate: September 6th, 1990
College: Kentucky
Draft Ratings: B+ C+ B- B- C+ A
Strengths:
Wall is a lighting playmaker at the Point Guard position, a franchise player who will be the centerpiece of whatever team ends up drafting him. Wall has the ability to get inside due to his superb athleticism and lightning speed. Once at the Rim Wall can go up and dunk, or just float the ball at the rim to knock it down. WWall is superb in the open court, leading his target and setting him up for an easy basket. Wall's ability to make cuts at speed to break down his man is almost unbelievable. Wall is a team leader, a true floor general, and should be able to step in and lead whatever team drafts him from day one. Wall is a decent defensive player, but he has the ability to get into the lane, and, with his athleticism, he even blocks the occasional shot, definitely more often than most PG's. In Addition, Walls Rebounding as a PG is already Rondo-esque. Wall will be one of the best rebounding PG's in league history the moment he steps on the court.
Weaknesses:
Wall's outside game is a definite work in progress. While his mechanics arent bad or anything, he just doesnt have a great feel for shooting, and tends to miss. His ability to knock down the set shot is poor as well, he is better off the dribble. Wall also does have a bit of a turnover problem, averaging a scary 4 per game at the college level, though the ball was nearly always in his hands. Also, Wall is just an average FT shooter, and a bit sub par for a PG. His Defense is mostly reliant on his athleticism, he doesnt really have a grasp of defense as a whole, but for a Rookie PG, he is pretty solid.
Outlook:
#1 Pick and a franchise cornerstone, that would be John Wall. In a period full of amazing Point Guards, Wall may very well be the best one to enter BBS, he has through the roof potential, not just on offense like Paul. Obviously, Deron Williams is the best PG in the league, and its gonna be a hard road for any incoming PG to catch Deron, but, Wall may be the guy.
