Pros-Where to start? rose is an insane athlete, with the strength of a post player, the ability to get inside almost at will, and the touch to finish at the hoop. He has great size for a PG, and is probably as strong as most PG's in the league. His quickness is insane, he has excellent court vision, and knows how to control the pace of the game. His rebounding for a point guard is great, due to his overall strength and quickness he boxes out very well. A solid Free Throw shooter, nothing to be amazed at, but odds are good he can improve that portion of his game. Rose has amazing upside, thats the big thing, his game is still very raw, even as he is already a dominant player. His athleticism is key, as he should be able to play in the league from day 1, while improving very quickly as he learns the nuances of the BBS game.
Cons: His range isnt great at all, he can shoot the three, but dont expect him to ever be great at it. Rose is not a great defender skill wise, he has great athleticism which helps him keep up with PG's but he does get beat and caught out of position quite a bit. While he isnt a huge to whore, considering he is the focal point of the offense most of his career, he does struggle at times with his handling. Though Rose has excellent court vision, he really didnt play PG that much in high school, so even though that is his best position, he is going to take some time to adjust to the BBS pace. Rose is not great at stealing the ball, he does play the passing lanes ok, but dont expect him to be great at stealing the ball in BBS.
Outlook:
Should be the #1 pick, but at worst #2, if somebody falls in love with Brook Lopez. Rose is a franchise PG for his career. Teams looking for a PG should be thrilled to see a player of Rose's caliber, Rose should be great from day 1, and a probably ROY. In time, as his outside game develops, Rose will become one of the best PG's of all time most likely. Really there aren't many questions about his ability anywhere, Rose is going to be a great PG for the team that gets him for a very, very long time...unless he leaves in FA.
