Define 'competitive'. As in not losing 52-10 but only 45-21?

Bingo. This is one of those hotly contested things from Michigan fans, but I'm in total agreement. I have to imagine Rich Rod was at home frustrated as hell that a team of his players was finally becoming what he knew they were capable of, without him. Unlike Lloyd Carr, Rich Rod left a lot for the next staff to work with. +100 I really wish they gave Rich Rod another year. Dave Brandon knew this team was on the brink of being a good team for the upcoming season but decided to get a Michigan man to make it seem like Rich Rod didn't do shit. basically Rich basically had 2 seasons since the QB situation in year 1 was probably the worst in recent major college football history. I'm sure someone will say he shouldn't have let Mallett leave, but do you really think one of the top pro-style QBs woudl have stuck around for a spread offense that runs the ball for over 300 yards a game? Whoever the Cone guy was that Carr gave scholarship to was easily the worst d1 qb i've ever seen

they did an espnu all access on one of uk's practices and newton threw a fade route and it went over the fence which was at least 15 yards beyond the back of the endzone.

Michigan fans <3 Cone too, dude was hilarious. Mallet was gone before Rich Rod was here, Carr and Mallet already agreed that he wouldn't be on the team next year, regardless of who the new coach was. Rich Rod's biggest failing was the insistence of running the 3-3-5 defensively, and from there hiring a shit DC like Greg Robinson to run it. The 3-3-5 doesn't work against Big Ten teams.
