He lost to Michigan? Cool? couldnt even beat the Michigan team that lost to Appalachain state..lol as much as i hate svedda and osu, this is pretty weak |

Florida will be back bc its Florida...... Yea we peaked and there really was nothing else for him to accomplish. He wasn't a florida guy so in the back of my mind I knew after he left he would one day return to ND or OSU. Just thought it would be in 3-4 yrs not one season. kinda mad how this all went down but still thankful for what he accomplished with us and just happy he didnt get on with a SEC team. Meyer and his recruiting is going to dominate that conference. lmao @ dominate not happening he's gonna dominate. Unless yall get harbaugh to come back to college, he's gonna dominate that conf. |

They're 10-2 with a first year coach playing with another system's players. I don't see how Michigan wouldn't have won at least 9 games with Rodriguez. If he would have replaced Robinson with a legit defensive coordinator then they would have been very very good. Hoke hasn't proved anything imo. I do think he will work out though |

I'm sure no bias there with that response. I'm saying this as a OSU hater. I hope Michigan beats them everyear but I know Meyer is going to do a hell of a job at OSU. |

Recap of Urban Meyer's Head Coaching Career
Bowling Green: 17-6
- never had to rely on his own recruits
- inherits josh harris at QB
Utah: 22-2
- never had to rely on his own recruits
- inherits alex smith at QB
Florida: 65-15
- left shortly after relying on a team of all his own recruits
- inherited chris leak at QB
- recruited tim tebow
I do believe Urban Meyer is a very good coach but I also believe he is massively overrated. He has only had to really depend upon his own recruits for 2 or 3 seasons ever and those recruits were part of a national championship recruiting class. I don't think that is a huge factor at OSU because he will be able to get about anyone he wants that can qualify. Since Meyer didn't depend on JCs at Florida, the Big Ten's more stringent JC standards may not hurt him.
The main reason I think Urban Meyer is overrated is unbelievable QB success. The guy is either a QB Guru, offensive genius, or insanely lucky. I'm sure any OSU or Florida fan here will say he is one of the first two. Odds are he is a combination of the 3. He has had a NFL caliber QB starting for him every season he has coached except for his final year at Florida. I don't think it is any coincidence that is his worst season as a head coach. In college football, the team with the better quarterback wins a significant amount of the time. There are a few exceptions like Jay Cutler but his team had virtually no where near the talent as other SEC teams. Since I don't think you can depend on any coach or program consistently recruiting and developing the best QBs in their conference, I don't think you can expect the same year in and year out success Meyer has had in the past.

Meyer was set from the get-go at Florida, Zook is a tremendous recruiter but he can't coach his way out of a paper bag.

WSU has a few decent QBs, they could be a lot better starting next year
add in possibly Mike Martz at ASU...well actually that would fail I bet, but still
