Alonzo Mourning[/u]
Ratings: B- C D B B- A
Pos: Center
Height: 6'10
Weight: 240 lbs
Age: 22
Strengths:
Deke's biggest strength is how well rounded his game is at this point. He is a very well rounded player coming into the league, but he will definitely make his mark on the defensive end. While his post D might not be great he is already an astounding leaper and a great weak side shot blocker. Zo is also a very good FT shooter for a big man and that is what will help him become a top scorer. He gets to the line a lot and is capable of converting a good percentage of his high volume free throw attempts. Expect 75% or so his rookie year, C outside is nice for a C.
Weaknesses:
If I had to point one hole in Zo's game it might be his offense, while he dominated his final year in Georgetown at 21-11 that came as a result of him bullying the smaller Centers. In the pros he won't be facing 6'7 C's and I expect him to struggle offensively if he has no help on a shitty team. Luckily he has a nice outside game, his scoring is competent but for a potential number 1 pick I would rather his inside be around a B or so, but again this is just me being picky, he is an absolute stud none the less.
Overall Outlook:
Zo looks like a franchise player no doubt. He might not average the numbers that we will see from Shaq but he is a guy you can use as a legitimate building piece no doubt. He should be able to anchor your defense and contribute offensively as well. As long as his TC's and upgrades work out relatively well Zo should be a first or second option player for the majority of his career.
