Gilbert Arenas
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 215 pounds
University of Arizona
"Pick one."
Strengths:
Arenas, simply put, can be an elite scorer at the next level. He has the ability to drive to the basket unlike any other, has a solid mid-range shot, and can certainly nail a three-pointer. This is a guy that undoubtedly could be a top three scorer in this league. He can do it all on the offensive end and plays the game in a fearless fashion. Arenas is also a very solid ball-handler and can distribute when he chooses to do so (which isn't very often). He is also a solid rebounder for his size. Gilbert also has already developed a reputation for being a very clutch, dependable player in crunch time. He wants the ball in his hands at the end of the game. He's also very proficient with a gun and could double as a security guard at the respective arena he plays in. Very photogenic, loves to pose.
Weaknesses:
Guns. Javaris Crittenton. Passing. Defense. Ego. Arenas is a little bit of a goofball and that can get him in trouble from time to time. He also does not always like to play defense. He focuses so much on trying to outscore the other team that he forgets about the other end of the court. He could be a good defender if he'd dedicate himself to doing so but that seems unlikely at this point. He also pretty much just likes to do all the scoring himself.
Potential Role in BBS:
Arenas can be a borderline franchise player that is capable of putting up 30 PPG/5 APG/5 RPG. He should be a high pick whenever he does declare for the draft.
