Game 1st Neted Pole nada for Somerset and I traded the GREAT KERMIT for my 2 firsts from Aar got 2nd overall pick last year and now a prob top 5 again ....

The reason people say "Game 1sts" is because they know you'll do a shit job with your team. The problem is, they expect you to be a rational human being, and instead of being in denial for a year and deciding to be mediocre instead of deal for your picks back, you waste an entire season and then deal the same guy off for two thirds of the same package. You may think you're "showing people" that your picks aren't valuable, but at the end of the day you're just ensuring that your team won't win shit and wasting your own time.
Also, Game 1sts have netted me plenty. The 43+44 ended up getting me Mel Daniels, who for all the shit talk about him, was one of the four most important players on back-to-back-to-back championship squads. And the 42 got me Connie Dierking, who was getting older at that point, but was still a high caliber big. The three picks this time around were a big part of the Marvin Barnes deal, which led directly to Terry Tyler and 3 Spurs 1sts, which led to Terry Duerod. Game 1sts very directly played a role in four championship teams. Thanks.

no Repole, no, getting Mel Daniels with firsts is nothing to be proud of, sure, he helped you win a title, but there were numerous other guys who coulda performed the same role, Mel blocked shots, he wasnt a great rebounder, or scorer, he blocked

Say what you want about Mel Daniels, but his statistical output was awesome.
Never turned it over
Blocked tons of shots
Rebounded FAR better than his rating (betting he was a 0-10 jump guy). His output was equivalent to a guy with B+ rebounding.
Based on box score watching, his post defense seemed to be great as well. And the drop in defense going from PF to SF to SG makes me think he was a very low drive defense guy.
Really Mel is the epitome of the type of guy I love. His exterior ratings might look meh, but I really don't give a fuck if he produces. Absolutely 0 regrets on trading a couple picks for him, I don't win those championships without him, and there couldn't have been a better fit for me up front.
