I am kind of dangling with the idea but I don't really know what or whom is a credible agency. Anyone with any info they could share would be greatly appreciated.

you might want to know the language of the place you're going to for starters... there are agencies out there but majority are technically "illegal" in the sense that they offer you a course and then to get you a teaching job but without going through the "work permit" process so technically you'd be working in the "Black market" or whatever... I know a few people that did it in Spain, Portugal and Poland.... Jeff would probably be someone you'd want to ask on this.. I think he's teaching English in Taiwan but I think he actually got a degree in teaching...you can try TEFL for starters though

I have heard TEFL is not mandatory though, especially in countries in Asia. There is a girl I know who did it in Germany who spoke no German and I don't know if she took a TEFL course either. I'll have to do some more research but I sent out my resume to a couple people including someone in Taiwan.
