1. Nanz welcome to the dime. Let's get started. You lost Kermit to Broph in FA. Scale of 1-10, how pissed are you?
Pretty pissed. about an 8 I would say. There is one flaw in FBB and that is feelings and emotions that players have. I don't care about the PG or SG glitch thing but HEY come on! How about them feelings! What pissed me off the most was that Broph always criticized Kermit and now he goes to him!? Come on! Kermit should have read all those rips to him from broph! That way he wouldn't have left me I was pretty pissed when it first happened but its all good now. Can't do anything about it now so i just gotta keep going and try to keep winning. Carr with a nice TC made me feel a little better When it happened I was about an 8 but now its more like 1 or 2. Who cares anymore.
2. You acquired NVL from Repole and it looks like Van Lier had another big TC. What do you expect from him #'s wise?
He had a nice TC for sure. I think that his numbers were down in Orlando because of Bingo being a fucking beast. Now that he is on a more balanced team without a Bingo lol I expect for him to have a very nice season. I think he could easily do 16+ points 11+ assists with turnovers in the 2's. His %s have always been good so i would expect them to be in the high 40's and 90's from the line. Going up inside for him is huge and should be a much better scorer for us. Pretty pumped to have him and we could have been very very good with a full squad.... we are still very good though.
3. Some have said your team might be better without Kermit because it has finally given you an outside identity. Do you agree? What are your expectations from your team this year?
I don't think they mean an outside identity at all but just a more balanced attack. I always had Kermit as option because i wanted him to be sick and give us some scoring inside but he wasn't nearly as good as scorer as the guys behind him like Rudy Ford Barnett and now Norm. Now that he is gone i think we will be better in the sense that now Rudy Barnett and Carr can be our options. I will probably try going outside at some point with Carr Barnett and Norm but Rudy is also such a great inside scorer that don't wanna lose him as an option.... Rudy has a very nice midrange so who knows it could work. What do i expect from us this year? 50+ wins. We still have a very talented team with Carr Rudy Barnett Ford and Big Norm. Hardy is also a very nice center who doesn't get any love at all from the league. Mel can be a nice back up for us who will grab us a ton of rebounds off the bench. We have the talent to win 50+ and i hope we can. We need to keep this train rolling.
4. Do you get a bit of a napoleonic complex from being the consistent # 3 best team in the East? How do you deal with Charlotte and Milwaukee?
This is tough because I think the Cats better than us and the Bucks are just as good as the Magic so ya they are pretty good lol. We are still somewhat of a young team so i think we can be better but this year i just don't see the Bucks losing because they are pretty much the Magic like i said and they've won the last 3 rings. They Cats beat us pretty good this first sim but i think with the right DC we can find a way to make it a long series for them in the playoffs and maybe win. Its annoying to be the third best team out East without a doubt but thats on me to make some moves to help us get past them. Hopefully the right deal comes along and i can pull the trigger. Our core is very good.
5. Fill in this sentence: Nanz will win his first title in New Jersey in ( ) seasons?
I'll say 3 seasons though it doesn't look great right now. Hopefully by then Bingo will break his leg and retire or go down and the Cats will be too old so they will retool (tried it this past off-season so why not). At that point we';ll have Ford Carr and Rudy still in their primes with Norm leading the way. Also there is a chance by then i deal Carr to get some more vets to go for it all. Carr had a nice TC and i expect his numbers and value to increase in these next years and bring in some sick talent; though it would be nice to win with him. We'll see what happens but i need to get me a ring for sure.... its been too long. Two rings now a days are nothing so ya i gotta make it happen.
6. You did a whole sequence of these interview articles before me. BK! Who was your best interview? Who was your worst?
I probably skillz (you lol) was the best. I enjoyed reading the answers you gave because they were fun and you took time to respond. I thought the questions were also pretty good which gave the article a lot of life. The worst? Ummmm Kobe didn't go hard really so that was kinda eh. CC was probably the worst though i will admit that i did not read his answers LOLZ. Every kept saying "can i unread this" lol which was pretty funny so going off that i'll have to go with the old C^2.
7. If you were to do a roundtable of 5 BBS GM's, who make your all-star round-table?
Man this is tough. I would have to pick repole and play to go off at each other with some of the questions. Those two would bring in a lot of posts and discussions so it would be awesome to have them do the same questions in a round table. Next i'll pick DWB lol. The way he went off on you was pretty awesome to read. It was entertaining and everyone in the league seemed to have a good time out off it and that what round tables are all about. Next i'll go with Habes mainly because he always wants to fire someone and isn't afraid to go after people...and he does it in a good thoughtful and and insightful way (hes my friend ) unlike some idiots like HF. Speaking of idiots every article needs one so I'll go with HF. He'll make comments like 'Im the best gm so what" lol when he isn't even top 15. I know its an act and all but who doesn't love an good old classic dumbass.
8. You posed this question to me, so i'll pose it back to you: you are going out for the night, who are your two wing men?
Oh hot damn. I'll pick Skillz because you picked me lol. Seems like we would have a good time and pick up some hot chicks who wanna have a good time Then i'll bring my good old friend Habes because he loves to dance when he drunk and has this side to side move girls love. So yeah it would be a good old classic time with some rejections in there but some Pus for sure. Good times.
9. Who is a better GM, you or Habes? Why?
Oh damn the old friend vs friend question. Aaron has had a damn good run in this league. He has won rings and always seems to find talent as of late like Mengelt. He isn't afraid to make big moves without hesitation or thinking about the future ... he'll pull the trigger on whatever he thinks is best for his team right now. Thats something i really like about him and that he is one of my best good friends. With all of that being said, I think i'm a better GM because i can also put great teams together and win. NJ was a rough start but now we are in BK and we stil have a great team despite losing arguably our most valuable payer. I'll also say that i think my floor is not as bad or as low as big airs simply going off history from me being with the Nuggets/ Lakers and the last version. Its really only because he makes trades that are good for him right now without thinking about the long term but thats what also makes him a great GM. So yeah i'll go with me.
10. Who is the hardest GM in the league for you to trade with? The easiest?
DJ is the hardest. Mainly because of the fact that the last time I tried to work a deal with him for Zelmo he backed out at the last minute after i had traded for Carl who was gonna take over for Weiss after I thought i had shipped him to TOR. Anyway that really fucked me over so yeah i'll go with him. Easiest? Umm I like dealing with Aar and you mainly because its fast and simple. Its also done in a nice way that doesn;'t make it stressful so i like that. Repole was also very easy to deal with for Norm so i'll say him too
