I know they don't have longterm value, but it's stupid that people are going to wait until partially through the season until they realize that they can help or it is stupid that you don't dump them for expirings before they end up being the difference between 1st draft position and 6th

From the other side, these guys are gone the moment I decide, the price to secure them over someone else is essentially a late first. That's worth it IMO, I've made tons of similar moves in my past and never regretted it.

Its not smart to go trading firsts though until you know your team is contending, thats the issue, I have no idea how my team will play, (and neither guy would get burn right now either, but thats beside the point), the Hornets less so, so trading a first for a backup when you arent ready to contend, or know how your team is gonna play is kinda pointless right now
