I find the pick story interesting. How does one possibly acquire so many picks in a draft with a big name? Did the other GMs not realize who was in the draft? How did he get these 1sts without getting CY'd due to trading literally everything else he had? Or did he get the 1sts for free somehow?
I always wondered what the deal was with that rule so now that I know I'm loling. I've seen so many people try to do this in leagues where drafts weren't changed and while they can usually get a decent # of picks, they would never get enough to where they forced a restart.

I was there near the end of that league IIRC
Don't recall much about the teams or such but I did talk trade with him. I can see why he got stuff done

Reilly still never touched Silk027... he won like 6 titles in a row and think was pretty close to hitting 80 wins twice.

Reilly was awesome tho... this is what he did in BBS2000
2001 - 47-35 2002 - 46-36 2003 - 42-40 2004 - 54-28 2005 - 50-32 2006 - 48-34 2007 - 43-39 2008 - 48-34 2009 - 53-29 2010 - 45-37 2011 - 32-50 2012 - 32-50
by the time 2010 hit he was losing both time and interest and ended up quitting for good.

I believe several gms began acquiring picks in the same draft for the same reason as him. He then just traded his better players to get their 5+ picks. Also instead of acquiring upcoming picks in most trades he just traded for them in that year for a long time. For example, he would trade a slightly better player for a slight downgrade and get a pick in the MJ draft instead of one in a couple of seasons. Trading a pick 15+ years down the road is easy to give up if you don't care about tanking for specific stars. The value of those picks obviously went up a lot as the draft was approaching. Like I said, I was one of the last holdouts. I know I got an allstar for an average guy and a pick a couple of years away from the draft. I didn't have a real interest in tanking that year because my team was highly competitive at the time.
He probably had 20 of the 1sts 10 seasons ahead of time. He got to rebuild after initially getting them and then compete up until the draft. I believe the CY used to be 5th year instead of the 4th year...
