Before we start, I promise this shall be a Bingo free article. Why? Well shit, the rest of the league needs love to. LET'S SHOW THEM IT.
Who:
The West. All we really talk about now a days is the East. While it's obvious as to why, the Westside definitely deserves some props as well. The Lakers have the talent to go far in the playoffs and the youth to maintain it for years to come. The Nuggets have maintains themselves fairly well throughout the year and could very easily make a finals trip again. The Warriors are quietly adding talent as well. They traded away struggling Calvin for a big upgrade in Bing. The White Bing connection should definitely frustrate teams throughout. Should be interesting to see who comes out of the West. To me, It's going to be a Lakers/Magic finals. I wouldn't mind a Magic/Nuggets finals either. Either way though, I expect a nice, long series. Fuck a 4 game sweep.
Well, we have the good of who and well, the bad. So, Mickey Johnson was traded to the Pistons in the Walt deal. The Pistons RC his scoring and he goes from B C+ scoring to B+ B-. GREAT! Johnson goes ahead and, in the first 6 games of the sim, shoots 0-11 from the field. Huh? He saved himself in the last game, going 1-1 in 2 mins of playing time but still. You backwards ass fucker.
What: Positions
Dave Bing at PF? Jim McElroy at C? I mean, I'm sure old school Knicks fans remember our 3 PG line but this shit wild b. Sarcasm aside, the Grizzlies are in a tough position (pretty much having to win) and to see the DC fuckery, well, it has to make a grown man cry. Of course, they did beat the Warriors so there's that.
Speaking of "positions", let's talk playoff positioning for a second. The bottom of the East to be exact. We have 4 teams fighting for the right to get blown out by the Magic and Bobcats. The hottest of the bunch are the two that have made moves to secure said playoff spots. The Knicks picked up the much maligned 2 guard Gail Goodrich who should provide a big time offensive punch for the Knicks. Meanwhile, the Pistons traded scruggling point guard Calvin Murphy and picked up a future hall of famer in Walt Hazzard. Obviously for the future it wasn't a great deal but with the Pistons needing to make the playoffs for the next 2 season, it was a much needed move.
When: Day 60:
DAT ALL-STAR WEEKEND! I can honestly say that nothing of excitement happened. The All-Star game was cool but nobody put up any ridiculous type numbers. Congrats on the West on winning though. Will this be a hint of things to come? The rookie/Soph game was about the same, though it's always nice to see how the future of the league plays. The future of the Celtics, Sonny Parker, led the Rookies to a blow out win of the Sophs. 24 points on 7-8 shooting and 10-13 from the FT line? Pretty impressive. The player of the game, however, was Tree Rollins who dropped a double double (18 pts, 12 rebs) along with 2 blocks. The future of the Blazers has definitely gotten better since getting AC. On the struggling side of things, Robert Hawkins shot just 1-8 from the field, 0-3 from the FT line but 6-6 from the line. Better luck next time I guess. Dwight Jones won the slam dunk contest and Cousin Skeeter Swift won the 3pt shootout.
Why: Y U NO PASS OUT YET?!
So, for the 2nd straight season, the best PG in the league belongs to the Knicks. At this point, Skillz has become that drunk uncle that keeps yelling out the most random shit on earth after just a couple drinks. You want him to STFU but, he's family. So, you just casually put up with him until he passes out. Skillz, your our BBS family. We love ya. We want you to STFU but we're so used to it, we'll just deal with your silly ass.
Where: Everywhere!
It's always fun to see guys get traded everywhere. The latest case? The struggling Calvin Murphy. We can begin last season, where Murphy was traded to Detroit for Charles Johnson. After finishing up a solid overall season, Calvin struggled and was shipped to Golden State for Walt Hazzard. After one sim, he was shipped to Memphis for Dave Bing. We here in BBS cannot wait to see where Calvin goes next.
How: Articles!
How much longer is this trend of article writing going to last? I mean, sure, articles for written before but lately, it's been going nuts. We're almost at 60 for the month. 60! Did we even top 60 in the last 3 combined? At the end of the day though, it's always awesome to get other people's options out there. Not only because, well, we want to hear other people's thoughts but because of controversy! We want more fuckery in the BBS message boards.
Speaking of how, Spence, how you gonna fire someone who lost there internet? C'mon son.
