Who: Charlie Scott:
More so, I should say his career. You see his ratings and think, this fucker must be good. You see his numbers and say, huh? Currently averaging 21.2 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 4.5 on subpar shooting percentages (43% FG, 80% FT and 40% 3pt), Scott’s career is going nowhere fast. It’s early in the season and maybe his numbers could improve with another AC but if it doesn’t, I see no reason why it’ll get any better anytime soon.
On the good side of "who", is Butch Beard. Currently averaging a career high 29.7 ppg, 6.1 rpg and 3 apg on 50% shooting, he's carrying the Knicks to a .500 record. Hell, not only is he fighting off playing with the rest of the Knicks decent roster, he's fighting the curse of the Tart. With all that said, he's available folks (as is all of skillz roster, like, always).
What: The race for #1
The Magic are 12-0 and Bobcats are 13-1. Let’s be honest right now, both these teams run the league. I know it's early on but I don't see how or why anything changes (barring injuries, of course). The Bobcats are top 5 in ppg, rpg and apg. Magic top 5 in spg and bpg. Both top 5 in FG% and 3pt%. Magic are the only team in the league allowing under 100ppg. I can keep rolling off numbers but let’s just say what we’re all thinking. This is the ECF match up. It should be anyways. Obviously, these are the two favorites for the BBS championship. The teams in the West? Well, good luck to whoever wins out there.
When: Day 5
Archie Clark put up the season’s first triple double. Sick one at that. 31 points, 20 assists and 13 rebounds on 11/23 shooting and 5/11 from 3. Still, the Clippers managed to blow the game and lose to the 76ers by 6 in OT. Sorry Archie. While Archie did put up the first triple double, his opponent had a damn good game as well. Foots put up 32 points, 15 assists and 7 rebounds on 12/21 shooting and 3/4 from 3. More on Foots later on in this article.
On the same day, the Lakers and Warriors had an offensive battle. Lakers and Warriors put up 54 and 45, respectively, in the 1st Q. The Lakers, in the first half, scored 80 points. On the same day, the Knicks scored 77 through a whole game. Eric Cash Money had a damn good game that should not be ignored. 33 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds on 13/22 from the field and 2/4 from 3.
Where: Orlando, Fl
This is where Bingo went HAM and scored 62 points on 22/35 shooting and 6/7 from 3. Hell, dude almost went ahead and put up a triple double, adding 7 rebounds and 8 assists. This fucker is averaging over 43 ppg so far in the year along with 8.8 rpg and 3.9 apg. He’s decent. Orlando might be in the where section all season as long as Bingo keeps up the dominating season.
Why: Y U NO WANT HOOSER?!
This must be what DBW keeps asking himself. The numbers aren’t bad (12.5 ppg, 8.6 rpg and 3.4 bpg). Obviously him being expiring sucks and his shooting percentage/turnovers aren’t great to look at but 3.4 bpg! I’ve seen shot blockers get 3 picks just because that’s all they can do. Hooser should be gone, like, yesterday. Hell, the man just wants a pick. Not protected. Protected. Come on people. Be kind. Save Hooser and while we're at it, save DBW. We’ll see how long he remains in Boston though. IMO, it won't be much longer. BTW, I expect the check in the mail DBW.
How: Records!
The 76ers are 10-5. I mean, they are starting Newlin! I like Newlin. Great back up. Starter? Na. All this talk about this person is underrated and this person is overrated, well, he’s a legit underrated player. No, not Newlin. Where the fuck did Foots come from? Is this another DJ situation, where players go to die (value wise) but still perform greatly? That aside, the 76ers are obviously doing this with defense. They are 2nd in spg, 8th in bpg and 8th in OFG%. Of course, the great shooting percentage they own helps as well. Should be interesting to watch what happens in Philly the rest of the way.
In the other side of things, the Pistons are 3-10. Was losing Boe that big of a deal? or is the curse of Charlie "I have great ratings but play like dog shit" Scott going to cripple the future of the Pistons? Should be fun to watch (meh). It's not all on Scott though. Murphy has been a mess thus far also. The issue in Detroit might be as simple as a DC change or as big as new blood must be injected.
