1. Charlotte Bobcats
George Gervin SG 6'7'' 180 22 B+ B C- B C A
Bobcats are currently the worse team in the league.. If they continue this pace they will have to decide between big or small.. Talent wise I think Gervin is the best player in the draft although Bill Walton wouldn't be a bad pick either... Gervin's notes are #1 pick worthy and has stud written all over him from day one... Gervin could become the best guard in BBS.
2. Philadelphia 76ers
Bill Walton C 6'11'' 210 22 B C- B+ B B+ A
Sixers land the 2nd best player in the draft... Walton easily could've gone #1 but Sixers get a franchise player since the Big-O... Although Sixers have a center in Nater, adding Walton will give them a future front court for many years to come.
3. Cleveland Cavaliers
Marvin Barnes PF 6'8'' 210 22 B C D+ B B A
This is when the draft becomes unpredictable.. I think the CAVS will draft big here and select the 2nd best big in the draft in Barnes.. According to his notes, Barnes could block AND steal and also has a nice post game, something that is rare in BBS... They could select another guy like Jamaal Wilkes at this pick... We will have to see.
4. Miami Heat
Jamaal Wilkes SF 6'6'' 190 21 B+ B C C+ D+ A
Wilkes is the obvious choice here... He is a top 5 prospect in this draft and Spencer's favorite player.. Judging off his ratings, Wilkes could become a stud wing and the 2nd best wing after Gervin in this draft... He may even be better off at SG (D+ rebounding).
5. Los Angeles Clippers
Phil Smith SG 6'4'' 185 22 B C+ B B+ C A
After the top 4 picks, Clippers select a sexy looking guard in Smith... His ratings are great for a rookie and his notes show no weaknesses (although he may not have a 3 pt shot)... Clippers lack a scoring guard and I think Smith is the best pick for them here.
6. Denver Nuggets
Mickey Johnson PF 6'10'' 190 22 B C C- B C+ A
3 lottos. Nice.
Early top 5
Phil
Bil
Mickey
Marvin
The iceman
This is Greeme's top 5 and gets his selection here.. This could be a reach for Denver and I projected another player to go here, but it's Greeme..
7. Utah Jazz
Len Elmore C 6'9'' 220 22 C+ C- D A- B- B
Really like this pick here... Elmore enters the league as a BBS ready defender and rebounder... His notes are salivating and could be a force in this league... Utah will need a center for next year and Elmore it is.
8. Orlando Magic (via PHX)
John Drew SF 6'6'' 205 20 B+ B- C- C+ C+ A
The rich get richer... Orlando adds a nice looking wing in Drew... Only 20 years old, his game looks really good... Drew has a nice skillset and has shown in college that he can score, defend, and rebound... Really intriguing selection here but I think Drew shouldn't fall below this pick based on his age, talent, and ratings.
9. Milwaukee Bucks
Truck Robinson PF 6'7'' 225 23 B D+ D- C+ B- A
I see Milwaukee drafting big here... Truck enters the league with a great post game, defense, and rebounding ability.. I see him becoming a a 20-10 player if he plays 30 mpg for the Bucks next season, which wouldn't surprise me if Bucks continue to rebuild.. Based off history, Broph really likes strong bigs that can score, rebound, and defend...so Truck is the right selection here.
10. Miami Heat (via Pacers)
Billy Knight SG 6'6'' 195 22 B B C- C+ C- A
I think more wings will be selected near the end of the lotto and it will continue here with Knight at #10.. Heat could make a different selection but I think Knight is the best available at this pick.. His scoring is really nice and has potential to get even better there... I think Knight could become a A- A- type player if he pans out...His notes also show he has ELITE quickness.. Knight could be sick, especially next to Wilkes.
11. Chicago Bulls
PICK FORFEITED DUE TO HC PENALTY.
12. Charlotte Bobcats (via Portland)
Campy Russell SF 6'8'' 215 22 B C+ C- A C B
After selecting Gervin at #1, I see Charlotte drafting another wing here in Russell.. Charlotte could make a different pick but I think it's tough to pass up a talent like Russell who enters the league with a nice inside game and great defense.. Gervin and Russell could make a nice 2-3 combo for the future.
13. Golden State Warriors (via Thunder)
Jan Van Breda Kolff SF 6'7'' 195 22 C+ B C A C B
Warriors end the lotto by drafting an intriguing player in JVBK... Almost similar to Campy Russell, JVBK has a nice outside shot unlike Campy and has great defense as well.. Wouldn't surprise me if JVBK goes before Campy.. We will have to see.
