1) Charlotte Bobcats - Moses Malone C 6'10'' 260 18 A- C D C A- A
Larry Kenon looks nice and so does Maurice Lucas, but I think that it would be foolish to pass up Moses Malone as the top overall pick.
He's going to be a 20/10 guy from day one before he even has a TC and the sky's the limit.
I expect that he'll have A inside and A rebounding when all is said and done and that's something that you simply cannot pass up.
If he can eventually achieve B or B+ defense, he'll be one of the best in a league that has few elite big men.
2) L.A. Clippers - Maurice Lucas C 6'9'' 215 21 B- C D+ B B A
This probably won't be a popular choice for the second overall pick, but I think that it would be the right pick.
A strong big man who can block and steal is a better asset than a small forward with handling issues in a league with a glut of good swingmen.
Lucas looks to be a raw big man who will become an All-Star if he has high A potential.
3) New Jersey Nets - Larry Kenon SF 6'9'' 205 20 B+ C C- B B- A
If Kenon is there at three, I think he'd be a no-brainer.
Kenon will do a little bit of everything and although his notes say that he's a mediocre defender and a suspect ballhandler, his starting ratings will help whoever drafts him look past that.
Kenon has star potential and while I'm not sure that he'll be an All-Star for awhile or possibly ever due to the talent BBS has at this position, he's a very safe pick here.
4) Oklahoma City Thunder - Kermit Washington PF 6'8'' 230 22 B C- C- A- B A
Here is where the draft gets more interesting.
I'm going with Kermit over McGinnis simply because I expect McGinnis to turn the ball over a lot if Spencer researched him while he was creating this draft.
Kermit might even have better starting ratings than Lucas, but I feel like Lucas has better upside.
Judging by his notes, there appear to be no major holes in his game.
5) Philadelphia 76ers - George McGinnis PF 6'8'' 235 23 B+ C+ C C+ B A
McGinnis falls to the fifth pick because he doesn't block shots and because I expect him to turn the ball over.
That said, I expect him to be an incredible scorer right away and he should average at least 20/10 as a rookie if he's a starting option.
I think that McGinnis rounds out the consensus top-5 players in this draft.
6) Milwaukee Bucks- Mike D'Antoni PG 6'3'' 185 22 C+ C B A C- B
Here is where the draft gets a bit tricky.
I don't think that the Bucks necessarily need D'Antoni, but he looks like the next best player available.
He's a solid ball handler and a hell of a defender, plus he projects as the best point guard in the entire draft, which is hard to pass up.
7) Indiana Pacers - Doug Collins SG 6'6'' 180 22 B- B+ C+ C D+ A
These poor rebounding shooting guards are starting to irk me.
However, I expect Collins to be a prolific scorer after a few TCs.
The notes on his upside make him look like a solid prospect in a draft that doesn't have a ton of swingman talent.
It's a toss-up between whether Williamson or Collins goes first. I'm personally leaning towards Collins
8) New York Knicks - John Williamson SG 6'2'' 185 21 B- B+ C C C- A
Williamson is a Skillz-style player and that's why I expect him to draft him in this spot.
Good ballhandler and a better rebounder than Collins, but the only thing that may turn Skillz off is the word "athletic", which leads me to believe that his jumping is high and that he may not be as good of a scorer as Collins.
9) Miami Heat - Dwight Jones C 6'10'' 210 21 B- C D+ C+ B- A
Jones strikes me as a player who has tremendous potential and with his starting ratings being this good, that could go a long way.
Jones is the wildcard in this draft, he could go between 6 and 8 or fall out of the lottery.
Personally, I think he's worth the risk given his notes. He sounds like a beast, but at the same time, when you deal with guys who are boom and bust, it's hard to know where they project.
10) Portland Trailblazers - Allan Bristow SG 6'7'' 210 22 C+ A C- C C B
Bristow is another player who could go a bit higher given his solid notes.
His defense is a liability, but it looks like he could be a 20/7 type player right off the bat and he appears to have plus handles.
I don't expect him to fall out of the lottery.
11) Utah Jazz - Nick Weatherspoon SF 6'7'' 195 23 B C C- A- B- B
Weatherspoon looks like a pretty safe pick.
He looks like another player who has very few weaknesses and who can be plugged in right away.
If he has even a small amount of upside, he could be a really good starter for years to come.
12) New Orleans Hornets - Swen Nater C 6'11'' 240 23 B C D B+ B+ B
Nater looks great on the surface and he could go way higher than this spot, but GMs tend to dislike big men who can't block shots.
The "won't block shots" and "poor handles" description will be an immediate turn off for GMs in the draft, but if a GM is willing to overlook those traits in a big man, then there's a chance that he goes higher in the draft.
13) Charlotte Bobcats - Johnny Neumann SG 6'6'' 200 22 B- B C B- C B
Neumann is another relatively safe pick.
He's one of the rare shooting guards with solid rebounding in this draft and his other attributes look favourable as well.
Of the players listed here, he'd be the least surprising to see fall out of the lottery.
