better doesn't exist. There is no such thing as better between two players who fill entirely different roles. Is Antoine Walker better than Shane Battier?
Shorty wouldn't fill Cole's role as well for the Knicks. And for the Celtics Cole would be worse than Bing. Roles are different, and comparing different roles is worthless.

reminds me of the Rondo v any other PG arguments. What people need to understand is that different teams need different roles. I'm sure Cole is more valuable to the Knicks than Shorty, but that's not going to be the case for every team. difference being...thats not him being better...he just fills a need...though really with the Knicks being kinda lacking a third option, I think they would be better with Shorty We would not be 40-5 with shorty. We are dominant, in addition to Baylor, because we control possessions and crush people with rebounding and defense

Knicks dont have a legitimate third option...Shorty would fill a different but just as important role

lol I mean using the word better between players in different roles is worthless.
LeBron can be better than Kobe, they're both ball dominant wings, and thus comparing them makes sense. Comparing Corey Maggette and Derek Fisher does not however.

and so we're clear, antoine walker was a horrible, horrible player who you're probably just sentimental about. if he played today you'd want him cut. who cares if he had more offensive skill than shane battier? no team needs the extra volume if it's coming from a career sub-100 oRTG dude

yes, thats better than Cole...hes a second option, but in a balanced offense, before I moved from outside to balanced because of Love he was doing 27 and 10.5, with 1.9 or so turnovers

Walker was so bad that he wasn't a good example, Steven Jackson/Jerry Stackhouse/etc would be more useful.
Basically, who's better, the inefficient volume scorer or the low volume role player? What does better mean? Who helps you win more games? Shit, depends on who else is on the team.
