1) Walt Frazier PG 23 6'4'' 200 B- B A- A- C A
Walt is still the class of a somewhat mediocre draft.
Frazier is just plain solid: 18/6/9/2 with good percentages and low turnovers.
Frazier will only get better and could end up being B A- A A C C, which wouldn't be surprising at all.
Frazier is a future all-star and will be a top-3 point guard. Can't ask for much more out of a top overall pick.
2) Mel Daniels C 24 6'9'' 220 B- B D- C+ B A
Many will disagree with this selection, but Daniels remains the second most valuable player from this draft.
His blocking and low TOs are enough to make him a huge commodity and I expect that his ratings will get better next year.
When all is said and done, I project a B B+ D B A- C type player, which is really nothing mindblowing, but he'll put up great numbers in the process.
3) Bob Netolicky C 26 6'9'' 220 A- C+ C- B B+ C
This was a tough choice between Netolicky, Rule, Schlueter and Jackson, but I ultimately settled on Netolicky.
He was the rookie of the year and appears like he's on his way to being a 20/10 player throughout his career.
His percentages will get better and his value will only go up.
4) Phil Jackson PF 23 6'8'' 220 B C C+ A B B
Better percentages and defender than Netolicky, but a worse scorer and rebounder, which is why he ends up at number 4 on this list.
Jackson does just about everything well and I'd love to see his numbers as a starting power forward.
I was really having a hard time choosing between him and Bob.
5) Bob Rule C 24 6'9'' 220 B+ C C B B- B
Another somewhat questionable pick here, but Rule went from being a perceived bust to a very good player in one somewhat unimpressive TC.
Rule is now a really good starting PF/C who does a little bit of everything.
6) Dale Schlueter C 22 6'10'' 225 B- C D+ A- A- B
Schlueter is very well-rounded, but needs work on the offensive side of things.
He's probably the best defensive big man of the bunch and likely the best rebounder as well.
Schlueter, like Rule, looked a bit iffy at first, but has blossomed into a really nice prospect.
7) Earl Monroe SG 23 6'3'' 185 B A- B B- C A
Why do I have Monroe ranked so low?
To be honest, I'm not sure. He's got great name value, he's a good scorer, good passer, decent rebounder and is very efficient.
He just doesn't impress in any particular area. He's a very good starter on a pretty bad team.
8) Jimmy Jones PG 23 6'4'' 188 B+ B+ B+ C C B
Can we see this guy get some minutes?
He had a huge first TC and didn't do anything in his second TC.
He probably has more value than some guys above him on this list, but he hasn't done anything to warrant it.
Still, ratings-wise, a very nice looking player.
9) George Carter SF 24 6'4'' 210 A- C C- A C+ C
Carter is a nice looking player, but he's gone down since being drafted and his perceived lack of upside makes him less valuable.
Some will likely think that this ranking is absolutely crazy, but I disagree. I think Carter is a solid third option starter in an inside offense and that's about it.
10) Clem Haskins PG 25 6'3'' 195 B A- C+ B+ D+ B
Haskins is another scoring guard who is tainted by his terrible rebounding.
He's also not very efficient, which hurts his stock as a point guard, but the Nuggets have been wise to keep him listed as a PG.
Haskins looks like his passing attributes are through the roof and he's also got a stellar midrange game.
Solid starter/sixth man type.
11) Darrell Hardy C 24 6'7'' 220 B- C- D+ B+ A C
Hardy is a nice starting big man who is great on the board and is a nice rebounder. The issue with Hardy, like Schlueter, is that his offensive game is very unpolished.
Hardy could also stand to block the ball a bit more in order to improve his stock.
He's either going to stagnate or he's one TC away from being a really nice player.
12) Pat Riley SG 23 6'4'' 205 B+ B- C- A D+ B
Not much to say about Pat other than he's a really nice player to have off the bench or as a starter.
You know what you're going to get from him. He's a solid defender who shoots nice percentages but is a rebounding liability, doesn't share the ball and won't score in bunches.
13) Willie Davis PF 23 6'8'' 234 B- C- C- A- B A
Willie Davis was signed after he was cut before TC and exploded.
His second TC was unimpressive, but he shoots nice percentages and does a little bit of everything.
His next TC will determine whether or not he was worth the picks that Repole got for picking him up in free agency.
Here's the original order
