I'm heading to Madrid in January, any suggestions? I'll have a little more than two weeks, so I'm gonna try my best to get to Barcelona, too.

Wow, you're useless. For someone who always raves about Spain, you are absolutely no help.

i hate madrid i think its really boring and for as big as it is you can see everything you "need to see" in a day, you need to visit Toledo en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toledo,_Spain incredible arcitecture and cathedrals and Segovia and the aqueduct en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Segoviaboth places are like 130 hours tops from Madrid, segovia being the furthest but both worth it. Madrid you have el museo del pardo, the santiago bernabeu, and then all the "plazas" like puerta del sol, plaza mayor, the royal palace and like i said you can visit all in a day. I don't remember if you're a soccer fan, but if you're a sports fan in general taking the Real Madrid tour of the santiago bernabeu is pretty sick

Ok, thanks. I would love to see the stadium. I'd really like to see a game.
How about Barcelona or Valencia?

I spent 3 days in Barcelona a couple of summers ago. You don't need to spend that much time there. It was a fun place though. This place is amazing if you like fresh food en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_BoqueriaThe Picasso museum is good. It has work throughout his career so there isn't just cubism. Sagrada Familia ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagrada_Fam%C3%ADlia ) is really just crazy. Unless something has changed I would not recommend paying 12 or 15 euros to go inside. It is very different but since it is still being constructed you can't walk through any of it. You only get to stand in one small contained area where the pillars block a lot of the view throughout the interior. You can pay to take elevators for a view but I didn't do that. There are quite a few other Gaudi sites that are free which are cool to check out. He was a strange guy. The Olympic Village area is practically abandoned. Skateboarders were actually using the torch and its fountain and an area to do tricks... you could walk through it pretty quickly since nothing is going on. There is also another part of the Olympic stuff over on the mountain by the ocean. It has some descent views and an old Spanish fort that you can tour for free. There is also a lift system that you can take from somewhere on the mountain down to the shore which would probably have some good views... I didn't do it though Camp Nou is kind of in the middle of no where. I believe its in a bad part of the city but I may be wrong. I didn't do the tour because it was like 20 euros the day I went while it is listed as like 8 in the guidebook I had. There are some other things to do but those seemed like the "top" attractions when I was there. If nothing else, it is a fun place to go out and eat tapas
