Why are the SF's always the best position in draft classes?

Joe Caldwell SF 6'5'' 195 21 A- C- C+ B C A is a very good post scorer. He is extremely active on the low block offensively. Caldwell doesnt have a very good midrange shot and his 3 point shot is mediocre. Caldwell is extremely quick and passes well but his handles are just mediocre. Defensively he cant really defend well man to man but he should get a ton of steals. Should go top 5.
Jerry Greenspan SF 6'5'' 195 22 B+ C C B+ C B is a solid scorer. He has a nice inside game and his midrange game is solid as well. Really no 3 point shot to speak of. Greenspan is a solid ball handler but he cant pass, and isnt very athletic. Defensively he is a nice man to man defender in the post and should block some shots.
Art Heyman SF 6'5'' 205 22 B+ C C+ B- C B is a good inside scorer who has a pretty mediocre midrange game and an even weaker 3 point shot. Hes a good passer, but he also has some handling issues. Hes solid defensively, but nothing special. Late Round 1 selection.
Jerry Sloan SF 6'5'' 195 21 B- C+ C- A- C+ A is a really good defender with nice upside. He can play good man to man defense and he can get steals. Hes also a good rebounder, very strong and a decent athlete. Offensively hes very raw. Decent jumpshot, good ball handler but he cant shoot from beyond the 3 point line and he doesn't pass.

Caldwell is worthless, at best he has a combined 76 outside, which means that his jumper is probably in the 40 to 50 range and he has mediocre handles...amazing top 5 prospect
