case in point just read this on a tech site. The price cut has been spotted over at Best Buy where the electronics retailer is offering the 16 GB model for $299 (from $499), the 32 GB model for $399 (from $599) and the 64 GB model for $499 (from $699). Analysts are now claiming that RIM may have actually halted production of the tablet. "We believe RIM has stopped production of its PlayBook and is actively considering exiting the tablet market," Collins Stewart semiconductor analyst John Vihn wrote in a note obtained by Reuters. "Additionally, our due diligence indicates that RIM has canceled development of additional tablet projects." RIM reportedly shipped 500,000 PlayBooks in the last six weeks of its fiscal first quarter, and another 200,000 in its full second quarter. RIM has been failing at everything for over a year... how were you not expecting this

Lol
I'd probably just go with the iPad, but if price is the major concern, this is a solid option.

Just read that the Fire costs 210 to make!
Product is essentially a ploy for the Amazon app store and cloud to make money and advertise the Amazon brand. Hence no Android App Market.

When you mentioned that I can have it stream on my TV without HDMI, how does that work? With amazons whispersync... Of course you TV needs to be compatible. "Amazon Whispersync – Like Kindle e-readers, Kindle Fire uses Amazon’s Whispersync technology to automatically sync your library, last page read, bookmarks, notes, and highlights across your devices. On Kindle Fire, Whispersync extends to video. Start streaming a movie on Kindle Fire, then pick up right where you left off on your TV – avoid the frustration of having to find your spot."
