Let me know if i'm forgetting anyone. Feel like i'm missing 1 or 2 guys.
Observations:
-Small forward is far and away the best position in BBS. It's the deepest and has the widest group of elite players in the league
-The 19th best small forward--Aj Perkins--has A- A- C B+ B- C ratings. That should tell you a little bit about the class.
-Despite the depth, Dean Hollis (1) remains the cream of the crop . The man simply has no holes in his game. He scores efficiently and often, rebounds incredibly well, and does not turn the ball over. Jack Twyman (2) has slightly better scoring numbers, but the fact that he is on a worthless team really knocks him down.
-There is not much separation from J.J. Erving (# 3) and the rest of the class, but it deserves mention that Erving has gone from an under achiever and a semi-bust to one of the best small forwards in the game.
-3 through 8 could really be ordered in any way. J.T. Irish (8) is definitely an elite small forward, but his numbers are more underwhelming than some of the other players. Speaking of depth, it's unbelievable that a guy like Cliff Hagan could be ranked # 13 with those kind of ratings.
-A theme throughout these lists is good players proving teams wrong. How about Juno Tremont (6), who could really be ranked even higher. He's doing 28/8 on 53% shooting! Definitely a small forward at heart.
-There also seems to be a bit of a change in the SF dynamic. The new young studs--Elgin Baylor (4), Sam Jones (7), and Johhny Green (14) seem to be more inside oriented,
-Temple Tucker (23) is one of my favorite "non-stud." You basically only want him starting if you are an outside team with studs around him because he clearly has some positional defensive weaknesses that you can't see on the stat sheet, but he's a pretty fun player.
