Interview with a Savage
By Jason Whitlock
By Jason Whitlock
As J-Sav’s personal reporter, and following him since his days in SLOR, J-Sav has brought his b-ball intelligence to BBS to rape and pillage these sorry ass GMs. I was able to catch a moment in J-Sav’s very busy schedule to get his thoughts on his new league he plans on dominating.
JW: Hey J-Sav. Let’s start by letting the GMs in BBS know about who you are.
J-Sav: I’m a Savage!
JW: We know that. But what are some things that the GMs need to know about you?
J-Sav: Only thing they need to know is that I come to dominate, and let them kiss my muthafucking feet on my way to a championship.
JW: Don’t you think it would be nice to come in to a new league with some humility?
J-Sav: Humility isn’t even in my vocab Whitlock. You know that.
JW: C’mon asshole. Tell us something about yourself!
J-Sav: I’m pretty; I’m smarter than all the other GMs in the league. I have interviewed by Barbara Walters as one of the most fascinating people in the world. I’ve been called People’s Most Beautiful People. One of my side bitches is Oprah. I pretty much piss excellence
JW: Wow J-Sav. You’re pretty confident in yourself.
J-Sav: Well, when you’re J-Savage, you can’t help but be confident. I have a basketball IQ that is second to none. I’m accomplished, and I’m just relentless when it comes to sim leagues. I’m a winner.
JW: So what are your thoughts on BBS?
J-Sav: This league is great. Getting used to the speed of this league. And the activity is amazing. But I see them as pons in my grand scheme of domination.
JW: What are some of the setbacks that you’re going through in entering this new league?
J-Sav: Just understanding the value of the players. Getting a good grasp of the personalities of the GMs in here. And overall, just understanding the ins and outs of the league.
JW: You were involved in controversy early on in here. You weren’t aware of some of the rules, which led to you losing your best player, Paul Arizin. Do you feel that you were shafted?
J-Sav: Yes and no. Yes, because if I knew the rules, I would have offered him the most I could of. No, because I made a rookie mistake. And being the new guy, I know that I’m not going to get much sympathy to right a wrong. So I’m fine with it. And it’s just gonna make me work harder.
JW: So what has been your experience with some of the GMs so far?
J-Sav: You talk about some terrible offers. I know that being the new guy, bullshit offers are gonna fly from everywhere. And a lot of them have try to made me feel stupid because I wouldn’t trade Robinson, Cooper a first for their over the hill player. But I really don’t care. I’m not gonna make any trades I’m not comfortable with. And yes, I might be trying to rebuild. But rebuilding doesn’t mean trading away your best players. I’m in no rush to give away my players. With no first in the near feature, just getting in to the playoffs is an accomplishment. I know what I got to do. And I’m not some naïve GM. I know how shit works.
JW: In your first year, you made it to the conference finals. It wasn’t your team, but many didn’t think the Spurs would be that close to a finals. Do you feel that it was a product of your team, or did the team like your new scheme?
J-Sav: Honestly, I don’t know. The previous GM constructed a nice team. And I don’t know how he was when he was here. But I added my own DC and scheme, and they seemed to respond to it very nicely. We beat the #1 seed. No one saw that coming. And we took the eventual NBA champs to 6 games. So I’m happy with that accomplishment in such a short time. Losing Arizin, that probably not gonna happen this season, but I will always try to win.
JW: Well thank you for your time J-Sav. Any parting shots?
J-Sav: Yeah. Watch the throne bitches!
