Ok, too be honest- I've been working on this list forever and I literally just gave up at 37. Maybe at some point I'll add 40 to this list. I tried to figure out value. This is a bit tough to do, as value can mean many things. I did mostly base this on perceived trade value, but that's tough to evaluate as well. I do think numbers are important and I tried to think about what deal a contender would. Probably crap, but we'll see.
37
Ben Rollins SG 23 6'5'' 209 A- B C B- C+ C
Rollins is pretty tough to gauge. He's a great scorer, over 28ppg as Broph has told us about a hundred times. He is still pretty young at 23 and will probably continue to improve. He's not much of a defender or a 3-point threat. The question is really his potential. Based on team needs I think a lot of people wouldn't trade the guys below for him. Still, if a team needed a scorer, he's one of the best. Broph will probably dislike this as he'll stay that he should be much higher.
Aar's List #64
36. Rick Moore PF 23 6'11'' 250 A- C C+ B B+ C
35. Andre Hixon C 24 7'0'' 228 A- C- D+ B+ B B
Sort of the same player Hixon is ranked a little higher because I think he has more potential. Hixon is a pretty good shot-blcoker, he could actually be a bit higher. I think Jordan still has a ton of potential though. Moore is probably about hit his plateau. I don't see him getting much higher. He'll be a 20/10 guy for his career. Lack of blocks really hurts him and I don't think he'll ever get 25ppg. Definitely a good #3 on a great team. Hixon will continue to climb.
Aar's List Hixon #28, Moore #34
34
Jarrett Jordan SF 22 6'8'' 229 C+ A C+ A- C+ A
This is probably a bit low for him. He still should have some potential left. If he can get his steals over 2 and his blocks around 1.5, he's pretty useful. His percentages are pretty good. He can still improve his FG%. Some people don't really like him, but I think he's pretty great. The value for SF/SG swing players should go up over the next few seasons. Trade value is pretty high for him though.
Aar's List #34
33
Derrick Williams SF 28 6'9'' 245 A C C+ A- B C
An overall efficient player. Can score with good percentages and is an above average rebounder for the SF position. Williams shoots a high percentage from the line and also doesn't turn the ball over too much. At 28 he will be around at a high level for another 3 or 4 years . Probably never going to be the best player on a great team, but still a good second banana.
Aar's List #33
32
Rakeem Christmas PF 28 6'9'' 239 A- C- D A- B+ C
I really like Christmas. I think he's a bit underutilized (pretty sure that is incorrect). He's got good ratings and has put up great numbers in the past. He's a pretty solid shot-blocker and he can rebound. At 28, I think he'll still grow. He's a bit underrated by most people. Quality bigs are becoming easier to find, so he's a bit limited.
Aar's List #61
31
Ricky Roe SG 25 6'9'' 230 B+ A A- C+ C- C
Wow, I thought Aar would have him higher. I really liked him two years ago, but he's sort of hit a plateau. The numbers are a bit low and his TO's are a bit high. He's still got potential and he's only 25. I really like his size, I think he needs to shoot more. Might be a little high at this point, he's really just a one-dimensional player. He needs to turn into a 30ppg scorer, or he'll continue falling.
Aar's List #31
30
Anthony Randolph SF 31 6'10'' 214 B+ C+ C+ B+ A- B
He's still a great defensive player, but he is a bit limited offensively. He is only shooting 40%FG. At 31 he has reached his peak. His numbers are still pretty good, but he won't get any better. This is another guy who might be ranked a little too high. It's tough to gauge the difference between numbers and value. He could go anywhere from 19 to 35
Aar's List #19
29
J.D. Quincy SF 20 6'5'' 222 B B- C+ B- B- A
As I mentioned in the opening, this is not just a straight trade value column. I am trading to take into account a players overall value. I think trade value on Quincy is extremely high. He had a decent TC and he was the consensus overall pick in the draft. He's going to be a good player no doubt. He is up this high strictly because of his trade value and his stock will either rise or fall quite a bit after TC.
Aar's List #27
28
DeMar DeRozan SG 31 6'7'' 234 A B+ D- C C C
27
Derrick Rose PG 31 6'3'' 200 A B C+ B+ C D
Both at about the same points in their careers. I like Rose a little more because he is a PG. DeRozan has been on of the best scorers in the league for quite some time. He is currently doing more than a point a minute, which is absolutey crazy. DeRozan is actually rebounding pretty well at this point. Rose is great because he can score and get assists. 30/6/9 is pretty nasty for a PG.
Aar's List DeRozan #48, Rose #50
26
Marquell Rodgers PF 20 6'10'' 248 A- C- B B+ B A
This is a guy who is all about potential. He isn't putting up great numbers right now, but he has the potential to be a superstar. I don't think he'll ever be a shot-blocker, but he could still be a good offensive player. Obviously he does not currently have the talent of someone like Rose and DeRozan but I think his trade value is much higher than those guys.
Aar's List #22
25
Andre Drummond C 25 6'10'' 251 B D C A- A- C
Drummond is an interesting player. He's definitely not an offensive player, but he makes so much noise defensively. His block numbers are ridiculous (4.3bpg) and he is also putting up great rebounds (12.2rpg) and steals (1.4spg). Those are DPOY of the year numbers. I think he can still grow offensively, but he'll never be a 20ppg scorer. He is rather limited in that aspect. His FT shooting is a bit disappointing at 53%. He's quite a bit like Wiggins, but I think Wiggins has more potential.
Aar's List #20
24
Antonio Ramsey SF 23 6'9'' 260 A- C+ C B B- A
I had him a bit lower, but his stats are pretty good. 21/10 is pretty great, and he is shooting 51%FG. He's got plenty of potential. He has the stride of a gazelle, a beautiful beautiful gazelle person. We'll see how the TC's play out, he will need to develop as more of a shot-blocker or a ball stealer. He's got the potential to be great and could play either the 3 or the 4. That's pretty good. Not sure about this position. I think he's just about the middle of the pack right now. Next year will be a make or break season for him.
Aar's List #24
23
Alex Jackson PG 23 6'5'' 211 A- C+ A- A- C B
Jackson is no doubt a player on the rise. He can play either PG or SG, which is a huge plus. He has the size for SG and is also a pretty good rebounder. I think if he can figure out his 3PT shot he'll be pretty dangerous. He is shooting 94% from the FT line. Too be honest, I wouldn't trade him for some of the guys lower on this list. He is definitely who will be higher next year though. As long as he still has some potential left he could be pretty great.
Aar's List #21
22
John Wall PG 30 6'4'' 198 A- A A A+ C+ C
Wall has pretty awesome ratings. His TO's are a bit of a problem, but his steals are pretty solid. The points (24.7ppg), assists (10.0rpg), steals (2.2) and even rebounds (5.4rpg). He's 30, but PG's usually stick around for a while. He's got a lot of scorers around him, so I expect the assists numbers to go up. His ratings and numbers deserve to be top 10, but his age really kills his trade value. There are guys above him that I think GM's wouldn't trade for him straight up. Stats still play a pretty big part of the ratings, so he goes here.
Aar's List #18
21
Harrison Barnes SF 28 6'8'' 215 B+ A- C- A- B B
20
Mitchell Jordan SG 25 6'6'' 226 A- A- C B- C- B
I like Jordan more because of his age. Barnes is the better player, but his TO's are a bit troublesome. I like Barnes' rebounding for a SF. Jordan is the better overall scorer though. Jordan has an advantage with turnover differential as well. I could see Jordan at A- A C B+ C C in the future. That's pretty good. Barnes is probably about maxed out will eventually have some trade-off's. I actually think that Barnes was a bit of a disappointment. I expected a bit more out of him. Not sure how people will feel about this. I think Jordan will pass Davis at some point. This is probably the highest we'll see Barnes.
Aar's List Barnes #29, Mitchell Jordan #26
