So from now on Ill try and do a quick draft notes for the top 10 or 12 players. Just to give GMs more of an idea of who the top tier guys are.
Elgin Baylor SF 6'5'' 225 21 B+ C B+ C+ B+ A
Easily the top player in the class. He may have some handling issues, but his scoring, rebounding and play making ability make him more then worthy of the #1 selection. A B A B A- is completely reasonable.
Jack Twyman SF 6'6'' 210 21 B B C+ C+ B+ A
Twyman is a super talented player that can do a little bit of everything. A solid score and plus rebounder with nice upside Twyman should go top 3. Twyman is probably best suited as a role player, 2nd or 3rd option as opposed to a top option but he should have a very good career.
Cliff Hagan SF 6'5'' 215 23 B B C+ B- B- A
Hagan is actually pretty similar to Twyman. Slightly less athletic, and not quite the rebounder that Tyman is, Hagan should still be a high quality BBS player. Hagan is a good scorer, solid decision maker and good passer.
Maurice Stokes C 6'8'' 240 22 C+ D+ D B+ A B
Stokes is a plus rebounder and defender that should go top 5 in the draft. he can block shots and is an amazing rebounder. While his offensive game is a big negative, his defense and rebounding should more then make up for it.
Clyde Lovellette C 6'9'' 235 26 B+ C- C- C+ B- A
Lovellette although slightly overaged is still a top prospect in this draft. he is a very good inside scorer with a good midrange game. Lovellette also should get tons of steals. Might fit better as an inside focus small forward, but either way he should have a solid BBS career.
K.C. Jones PG 6'1'' 200 23 B- C B- A- C A
Jones is a pass first defensive minded point guard with big upside. He loves to defend. He is a good man to man defender, he can get steals, maybe even some blocks and hes very strong for his size. Jones should also be a good rebounder. Offensively he's a bit raw but his handles are so good his potentially poor %'s will be acceptable.
Kenny Sears PF 6'9'' 200 22 B C- C- C+ C+ A
Sears is a raw pencil thin big man who likes to score inside. His post game is his strongest attribute but it also seems like Sears could develop into a shot blocker and ball stealer. Some scouts question his thin frame and lack of strength.
Frank Ramsey SF 6'4'' 200 24 C+ B+ C+ A C B
Ramsey is a perfect 5th starter on a good team. He is a good defender that should get a ton of steals, maybe even some blocks. He is a decent rebounder, probably a plus rebounder at SG. He has great handles and is smart offensively player that should shoot high %'s.
Tom Gola SF 6'6'' 205 22 B+ C B- B B B
GOla is a smart player who gets by with a good post game, nice passing and solid rebounding. Although he isn't super athletic Gola should be a top 10 selection based on his solid offensive efficiency and plus rebounding at SF. Gola can score inside but has an even better mid range game. Gola doesn't have a ton of upside. What you see, is what you get.
Mel Hutchins PF 6'8'' 222 26 C+ C C- A- C+ B
Hutchins is an extremely unique player. While he looks rather ordinary his game is not. He is exceptional at many facets of the game. First off he is a lock down man to man defender. Literally air tight defense. Second, he is a great mid range shooter. His FT % should be superb. Lastly he should get a ton of steals, especially at SF.
