Best Potential Free Agent from Each Team
Dean Hollis SF 30 6'10'' 230 B+ A+ C A- B+ B
Dean Hollis SF 48 39.2 30.7 9.4 3.1 1.5 1.5 1.0 .486 .921 .454
Hollis is one of the best players in the league, he will get max offers from everyone with enough cap room. The Celtics will need to obtain Hollis, so I'm sure they will give him the contract necessary for him to stay in the mean streets of Boston.
Bradley Barker PG 28 6'0'' 191 B A A+ A- D+ B
Bradley Barker PG 28 39.3 31.0 4.5 11.6 2.4 0.2 2.0 .457 .894 .393
Barker is arguably the best PG in the league, but the Heat have been looking to trade him recently, so it will be interesting to see if he gets moved at the deadline or not. Barker, like Hollis will get a max from everyone with enough cap space.
Shorty Patterson PG 24 5'10'' 153 C+ A- A- B D B
Shorty Patterson PG 48 36.9 27.5 3.1 7.4 1.9 0.3 1.8 .449 .871 .368
Shorty is having an unbelievable season so far for the Nets, putting up 28 and 7 with low turnovers and pretty good %s. Patterson still needs his RCs, but with his production this year he will surely get maxed by a lot of people if he hits the open market.
Antonio Ramsey SF 34 6'9'' 268 B+ B C B- B D
Antonio Ramsey SF 39 30.6 23.1 8.8 3.1 0.6 1.1 2.0 .427 .905 .429
Ramsey is still a decent player and putting up pretty good numbers for the Knicks this year. He will go from making 20 million this year to probably getting a few MLE offers at best and being signed to the minimum at worst. He could also retire.
Temple Tucker SF 28 6'5'' 220 C A- C+ C+ A- B
Temple Tucker SF 46 31.1 7.9 7.4 3.0 1.6 2.2 0.6 .438 .905 .413
None of the Magic's big 4 is expiring, but their 5th starter Temple Tucker will be coming off his rookie contract and could garner some attention. He is a defensive stats guy and a plus rebounder at SF. Doesn't score much but is an excellent FT shooter and can get it done from 3.
Oscar Robertson SF 23 6'5'' 205 A- A- B- A- B B
Oscar Robertson SF 29 39.3 29.4 9.3 5.7 2.5 0.9 2.2 .454 .849 .333
Oscar is one of the best players in the league and will finally be coming off of his rookie contract this off-season to the delight of many GMs who have set themselves up with cap room this off-season. Oscar is really the only valuable piece this team has, especially with Martin getting older, so it will be important for them to resign him.
Vern Hatton SG 25 6'3'' 195 C A+ A B+ D+ B
Vern Hatton SG 57 36.6 14.7 3.6 5.3 1.6 0.4 1.8 .488 .915 .506
Hatton is really good and if he been drafted by an active GM than he would be getting a lot more attention right now. He still has a chance to be really good so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get maxed this off-season. Jeff needs to realize what he has in Hatton and RC him and make sure he resigns.
Tracy Parker SG 32 6'6'' 212 B+ A B- B+ C- C
Tracy Parker SG 52 39.7 27.4 5.0 5.0 1.4 0.6 1.8 .479 .928 .412
Parker is another stud who could be a part of this great free agent class. He is regarded as one of the best shooting guards in the league and even though he will be 33 next year, I expect him to make a lot of money either with the Hawks or whoever signs him this off-season.
Douglas Washington SG 32 6'7'' 215 A- A B B+ C D
Douglas Washington SG 56 38.3 22.2 7.2 4.2 1.9 0.3 2.0 .457 .811 .411
The Bobcats have a few big expiring contracts, but most of them suck so I expect to see them traded rather cheaply before the season is up because I don't think the Bobcats have intentions on re-signing Washington or any other expirings. They will be looking to strike gold in this free agent class.
Purnell Jackson PG 28 6'7'' 210 B+ A- A+ A- C B
Purnell Jackson PG 56 39.8 32.1 7.7 10.2 2.2 0.1 1.9 .477 .914 .363
Jackson just adds to the list of great players who could potentially be free agents this off-season. An obvious max for anyone with cap and a 7 year max from the Bulls if he tests. Jackson has been proclaimed the "league's best player and its not even close" by his GM play.
Cam Adams PG 32 6'7'' 221 B- B+ A B- C- D
Cam Adams PG 54 18.2 8.5 2.1 3.1 0.6 0.1 0.7 .447 .716 .419
None of their good players are expiring, but the Cavs recently traded for Cam so he could be their starting PG. So they obviously like him, but how much they like him will be determined by how well they choose to pay him this off-season. He is a very good offensive player, but turnovers and defense have kept him from becoming elite.
A.J. Perkins SF 32 6'9'' 222 A- A- C- B B- D
A.J. Perkins SF 50 26.7 12.5 5.8 1.7 0.7 0.7 1.7 .459 .732 .397
Perkins is still a pretty good player even though the Pistons have been bringing him off the bench this year. I don't think the Pistons plan on paying him much with the guys they have currently locked up, so unless he offers to re-sign cheaply, Perkins will be playing somewhere other than Detroit next year.
Quitman Sullins PF 25 6'8'' 226 B+ C D+ B B C
Quitman Sullins PF 52 17.1 8.2 5.1 0.6 0.3 0.2 0.6 .447 .592 .438
The Pacers don't really have any good expirings and sense Mitchell Jordan is going to be 37 next year, I went with Sullins. With some work and a half decent TC he could be a solid player. Pacers will probably try to resign him if they can but nothing to pricey I am sure.
Rudy LaRusso C 24 6'8'' 222 A- C C A A- C
Rudy LaRusso C 51 34.7 24.5 11.9 3.7 0.9 3.4 1.8 .459 .836 .000
I thought Rudy had another year left on his rookie contract, but he just adds to the list of great players who are expiring. The Bucks are in love with Rudy and up until recently he wasn't available but since the Bucks are trying to lose they may trade him if the right offers comes along but I doubt it. Max for sure.
Theophileus Lloyd SG 27 6'3'' 189 B- A B A- D+ C
Theophileus Lloyd SG 44 36.9 20.4 4.0 4.5 2.0 0.1 1.3 .449 .931 .391
Theo has been increasing his value over the past couple of years with the Raptors so it will be interesting to see what kind of contract he gets this off-season. He isn't an elite shooting guard but he is a very good one and has shown that by avg. 23 ppg+ the two years before this.
Connie Dierking C 25 6'9'' 225 A- C C- A- B C
Connie Dierking C 52 32.3 17.0 10.7 2.0 0.6 2.6 1.4 .470 .820 .000
Dierking is actually a pretty good player. 17, 11 and 3 is really good for 32 mpg and his %s are very nice. If he lands in the hands of a GM that will AC him he could be a very good player. Could be getting a max from the Mavs as they need to camp him.
Gary Bergen PF 29 6'8'' 210 B+ D D A- B D
Gary Bergen PF 55 21.0 8.3 6.0 1.0 0.5 1.6 0.8 .433 .594 .000
No real important expirings to speak of for the Nuggets as they should be gearing up for FA like the rest of the bad teams, but Arizin and Barnes will keep them from having a max I think. This team needs a miracle to happen to it, not sure if Nuggets GM is close to his CY or not but it doesn't look good.
Matt Wesley SF 30 6'7'' 232 B- A C+ C B+ C
Matt Wesley SF 46 16.8 7.9 5.0 1.6 0.4 0.4 0.4 .427 .810 .387
Wesley has a unique skill set and has been very productive off the bench for the Rockets this year. The %s could be higher but, 8 and 5 in 17 mpg is great. He is a valuable bench player so I expect the Rockets to try and bring him back.
Guy Rodgers PG 26 6'0'' 191 B A- A A- C B
Guy Rodgers PG 57 38.5 19.9 6.7 10.5 2.1 0.1 2.9 .493 .884 .457
DBW has camped Guy into a great PG and he will surely be getting a max from Minnesota. They are hoping he offers to resign cheaply though as they already have 3 players locked up on big deals and have to resign Jarrett Jordan as well.
Don Ohl SG 25 6'3'' 193 B+ A+ C+ C D C
Don Ohl SG 57 38.1 23.1 3.3 3.2 1.3 0.3 1.5 .463 .894 .440
Ohl is a really good shooter and because of his scoring ratings and age will probably receive a max contract. His defense still hasn't come around but his offense more than makes up for it. Still has his ACs I believe, could potentially be A- A+ scoring if camped right.
Christian Keck SG 31 6'6'' 180 B B B+ D C D
Christian Keck SG 39 32.1 20.2 5.6 2.7 0.9 0.1 1.5 .473 .880 .413
Wow this Spurs team is bad, but they have their pick this year and will have enough cap room to sign 2 or 3 great players potentially. Keck could be the only one having fun in San Antonio as he is getting to shoot a lot this year for the Spurs. League min type offers for him most likely.
Jack Molinas PF 30 6'6'' 215 B+ C C+ C B B
Jack Molinas PF 52 19.0 6.3 4.3 1.3 1.0 0.2 0.9 .434 .806 .000
The Grizz don't have any good expirings, just the min. FA they signed this off-season. Molinas is avg. 6 and 4 and over 80% from the FT line, that isnt bad out of a back up.
Franz Reinhart C 31 7'0'' 237 B B C- B+ A- D
Franz Reinhart C 50 33.3 15.6 10.9 1.5 1.1 0.5 0.9 .454 .794 .400
Reinhart's ratings are very nice, but production wise he is just decent. He doesn't really wow you in any one category but he is a solid role player on a very good team. I expect him to get the same type of contract and stay with the Jazz next year.
Dick McGuire PG 35 6'0'' 182 C C+ A A- C- F
Dick McGuire PG 58 38.1 12.7 4.6 9.0 1.6 0.2 1.9 .454 .630 .340
Warriors are still barely above .500 and having a PG with a good assist to turnover ratio in McGuire is a big reason why. He has been pretty good for them this year and I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in a Warriors uniform next year. Defensive specialist Drummond also expiring.
Christian Gola C 32 6'11'' 293 A- C+ C- B C+ D
Christian Gola C 50 34.3 19.8 9.3 1.5 0.7 2.3 1.1 .468 .921 .389
Gola had a rough TC which caused the Pistons to trade him away to the Clippers earlier this season. Gola is still producing rather nicely though. His TC definitely hurt a lot of his value though so it will be interesting to see what kind of contract he is signed to this off-season.
Ben Rollins SF 34 6'5'' 221 A A- C+ C+ C D
Ben Rollins SF 52 38.0 25.7 6.6 2.9 1.4 0.1 1.8 .490 .931 .410
Rollins has been a big part of the Lakers success since they traded for him last year, he is an amazing scorer still at the age of 34 years old. I expect him to return to the Lakers on a one year deal with 10 million+. He is getting older though so the Lakers will need to find a long term solution at SF soon.
Dick Groat PG 30 5'11'' 183 C+ A- A- B+ D+ D
Dick Groat PG 52 37.7 19.3 3.8 9.7 1.1 0.2 2.8 .458 .854 .422
This Suns team had a chance if it had an active GM, but with ashes as the new GM it looks like they are going to rebuild. Groat is solid but I doubt he is back with the Suns if they can't trade him this season. Ramsey and Thompson are studs, they could easily add a few pieces and be contending out West though.
Vince King PG 30 6'0'' 193 C+ A B B+ C C
Vince King PG 28 35.8 21.3 4.8 9.8 1.8 0.1 2.1 .449 .877 .363
King led the Magic to a title last year and he puts up pretty good numbers but he just doesn't have great value around the league. He should get paid around what he is making now(10 million), but who knows someone might like him enough to pay him a lot.
Nehemiah Harrison SG 31 6'2'' 199 B+ A C- C D F
Nehemiah Harrison SG 55 39.1 28.6 4.2 2.6 1.6 0.3 3.1 .496 .915 .429
Harrison is having a great year scoring wise for the Thunder and although the defense and turnovers are a big problem, scoring 29 ppg can pretty much make up for it. Harrison is a top scorer but he doesn't deserve big money because of his weaknesses. Thunder don't have their pick next year either so I wouldn't be surprised to see Harrison back in OKC.
