Time for round 2 of my Franchise Power Rankings, following season 28 of BBS. (this years standings not included). For this round it was all about the Bulls, and the Grizzlies. Plays team put together a great run, with multiple finals appearances and a title, as well as pretty mych dominating the East. 501 points leads all comers, with the Grizzlies 470 coming second. Hypes Bobcats come in third, which is what happens when you have a team that is a threat come playoff time every year, and you win a title. The Suns continued to hold their overall lead on the league by falling fourth overall. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the Jazz blew ranking worst after being the second best franchise in league history to the last update, and, not surprisingly, so did the formerly mops run Indiana Pacers, ranking second to last. There really werent a lotta big time fallers, all the worst guys in points lost four spots in the rankings, (Spurs, Cavaliers, Magic, Pacers, Jazz, though The Blazers and Spurs were tied for that last spot.)The Suns widened their overall lead with the Jazz awfulness, but, the Bulls are closing fast. By the next time I do this their could finally be a change at the top. Same formula as last time.
I gave teams
1 point for a regular season win
2 points for a playoff win
4 points for a Division Title
4 Points for a Conference Title (on top of 4 for winning the division)
5 points for a playoff appearance
8 Points for being the overall number 1 (on top of the 8 from winning the conference)
10 points for a finals appearance
25 points for a title
That means a first round playoff appearance is worth 5-11 points (5 for the appearance + up to three wins at two points each) 2nd round is 13-19 points, Conference Championship 21-27, a Finals appearance is worth 39-45, and a title is worth 72 points, due to the wins. The most possible points in the regular season would be 98, and the most possible points in the playoffs 72. Without further hesitation, I present the overall Rankings.

- The Nuggets, Trail Blazers, Magic, Nets, and Bucks are each perfect when it comes to going to the finals and then completing the goal of winning a title. The Nuggets are an astounding 3 for 3, while the Magic are 2 for 2
- The Timberwolves, Thunder, Pistons, Wizards, Grizzlies, Pacers, Spurs, Hornets, Lakers, Pacers, and Warriors are all on the opposite end of the spectrum, having reached the Finals, but come up short of winning a title, of those, none is worse than 0-2.
- Well three quarters of BBS has made a finals appearance, with 23 of the 29 teams making a finals appearance. The teams that haven't? New York Knicks (who still rank 8th amazingly enough), Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets
- If I had to say that I have one team overrated in this ranking, it would have to be the Knicks at 8, as they do not even have a finals appearance...but they never seem to rebuild giving them a lot of regular season wins and they do tend to win a few games come playoff time.
- The Chicago Bulls are the best regular season team, as they have been consistent at winning a lot of games and more importantly, they have won an astounding 11 division titles, and have come out on top of the east an amazing 9 times. The next closest team conference title wise is the Magic, who have only done it 5. The Bulls have also been the overall #1 5 times, more than any other team.
- The Raptors have the highest number of playoff appearances, at 23 in 29 seasons
- The Hawks and Wizards have reached the playoffs a mere 8 times in 23 seasons, of course, the do have a Finals appearance in those 8 appearances
- Every team has won a division title.
- If there is something else you would like to know, or would like me to add, go ahead and post it and I will see what I can do. No guarantees though.
