A SIT DOWN WITH THE CHAMPS. BK STYLE #BKGOHARD
1. How does this title compare to the rest? How did it feel shoving it at CC's face?
Meh, I think my titles with Alf/AR up front were far more satisfying, considering I lost Rollins for nothing, yet still put the team on the court that earned a title. Here, I stole Kermit away, giving me a great asset for nothing. It felt good having Tree develop into such a great player, and no doubt is it good to get another title after nearly 30 seasons, but, the back to back titles were better. As for CC, I don’t get what he saw this year, but it was he and Greeme talking like my team was gonna be light work, and that was idiotic. This team barring injury was far and away the best in the West, it had more talent than they did easy, and well yeah. So shutting them up with back to back sweeps was quite entertaining, Greeme seems to think hes tops in the west or some shit, but he is nowhere close, and CC is just an idiot, go back to tanking like you do best.
2. Is this the best team you've ever had? If so why? If not how does it to compare to that team?
Yeah, I think it is, my other teams typically had great bigs, (Alf/AR, Nene/Kaman), but, this team combined that with depth, and great starters at every position. Bernie is a sick PG, McMillen scored very well and was a nice defender, and Bobby is Bobby. It was so dominant all around, it didn’t have a real weakness to exploit. It also won more regular season games and then thoroughly dominated each opponent in the playoffs, just a ridiculous showing.
3. As soon as the finals end its all about next season! Before we move on use this space to talk or reminisce about this year !
Never thought this team would be this dominant, especially as we went into the playoffs on a meh streak. Going 5, 4, 4, 5 in the playoffs is absurd, and being up 3-0 in the 2nd round, conference finals and finals is insane. The Celtics had an amazing team, one which last year I thought I would be in trouble with if I went to he finals, so to breeze through them is more a testament to the talent on the team. All in all things all fell together.
4.KAJ is now 33 years old and on a long contract. What is his future with the team looking like? Do you think you can remain at the top without him?
I think Im just gonna ride this out as long as possible, I don’t have firsts this year next year and then my 54 is top 20 protected, but, in reality I will run into salary problems soon, which is why I used my pick at 29 to pick an SG. My big four are locked up for a LONG time, so if I wanted to I think I could win for a long time, but, I hate wiinning without being a contender, and in another 3 or so years I think that’s out the window. If I could find a deal I liked for bernie or KAJ right now that made us younger, Id consider it, but, I want the player to fit my system, so D/Shotblocking/rebounding are important. I think if I got the right player I could easily wiitstand trading KAJ, there is more than enough offense on this team to make up for it, I would just have to go away from an inside focus, which I did in the playoffs anyway. Fryer can and will score if asked, Tree is a stud, and Bobby can score and defend. The team has a lot of flexibility right now, not having KAJ would just take that flexibility away some.
5. Do you see yourself in the finals next year? Who are your top 3 threats in the league... not just on the West?
To be honest I do, though I have to get talent back since much of it is in FA. My top 4 is great, and I should be able to fill in the rest, though it takes sacrificing some talent. The team was so dominant though, barring Injury I cant see not returning next year. My threats are pretty easily the Celtics, for the obvious reasons, Magic is sick, and they have talent all throughout…still shocked how easily we dispatched them, but I don’t see that occurring again. After them its gotta be the Magic, but, not necessarily for the team they have now, but for the team they COULD have with the assets they currently hold, youth and lots of picks, it’s a great young team, and could easily reach dominant levels with the assets if the right moves are made. After that, its gotta be the Lakers, the team is young, has picks to move and is developing well. They obviously need a move or three, but the ability to make those moves is there, and, being in the West they get a shot before any East team would.
6. Money and Magic are regarded as the top point guards in the league... who do you think is the third?
This is a tough question, cause there are any number of players who are on that next tier. I think its Bernie really, and yes, I hate tooting my own horn, but the guy never turns it over, rebounds great, scores (if the offense is tailored to him, he did 26 ppg last year for half the season before I went inside with KAJ) and defends well, did a solid job on Magic in the playoffs. Problem being, I don’t NEED his scoring, and as such, his stats get deflated and he doesn’t look as nice. Based on pure production its gotta be Walt Frazier, low turnovers, great percentages, rebounds decently enough and scores well. He lost a lot of value during his career because he, like Fryer, was playing on a team utilizing an inside focus, and as such his scoring was severely deflated, great all around PG. I know you probably wanted MRR here, but, I cant put him there yet with the scoring…he isn’t far off at all though.
7. HF made his contract year while only getting 41 wins and with the Bulls and Cavs without their GMs... Is it safe to say other than maybe Kobe LOL HF is the worst GM in the league?
I don’t get Heatflash at all, I don’t understand how you always end up in your CY repeatedly year after year, fighting for that bottom rung. He waits too long to make moves, which puts him into desperation mode and results in him getting raped, not to mention he doesn’t really deal with GM’s outside Styro and Play to get his big names. I think you have to put him there, even though I think he has the ability to not be there, he just is…hes been CY’d so many times you’d think he would figure out why that is, but its always the same result.
8. DJ coming out of hiding this off-season to make some trades! He just acquired Dickey and Donaldson from the Bulls and Bucks... what you think make of this and what is their next move?
I think it’s a bit confusing trading for Donaldson right now when you are in your CY… They Dickey move was great, no doubt, he is a sick player, but Donaldson I just don’t see as being a great player on a title contending team, especially not this year. He doesn’t rebound that great, scores well for sure, but, you must have rebounding, especially now with Magic at PG. Getting a defensive big woulda been a far better move for DJ, and I think that’s the next move he has to make.
9. Do you think Play has lost it. People are giving him a lot of shit but he hasn't made the finals in a while and is rebuilding again... Here come the swings! HEYOH
Yes, no doubt Play has lost it, and its turned him into a bitter prick who just bitches at every opportunity. He was great with Purnell, but since then hes just been another GM, he puts together nice teams, but bitches about his inability to trade, when really his trading style is whats so frustrating. He expects GM’s to bow down to him, but in reality hes been passed up by Repole, DBW, Greeme, and me. He used to be the top GM in the league hands down, but anymore all he does is troll.
10. The Magic were the surprise of the season with 65 wins and a nice run in the playoffs... Barry and NVL and getting up there in age and they have no real superstar. If you are repole what is your next move? What are the 2 moves that would put him over the top?
Repole has to consolidate those picks to win a championship. Yes, its nice that there is a good chance you could win for the next 20 years off those picks alone, but, until you win a title that’s kinda pointless, and there is no doubt with those picks you could go grab yourself talent that makes you better than the Celtics. Cant get too attached to your players, cause right now any of them could and should be available if a good deal comes around. Shocked he didn’t go get Dickey, that woulda been a great fit for him, he knows when to overpay, so I don’t get it. I don’t know what exactly the moves are he needs to make, but, getting a true Franchise player would be a start, an all around star type, the likes of which he currently does not have, though Purvis could possibly get there.
11. The draft is here ! Insane with the first two picks of the draft after a crazy jump! Do you think he made the right two picks? Could he be better off to a better start? LOL AND this is the order for the top 5.... Isiah, Kev, Rick, KIki and Toney.... is that your order?
I honestly didn’t pay close enough attention to the draf,t but I don’t get how Gminski didn’t go top 5, sick notes, so what if he has B scouted, he isn’t far off already being a starting big, and Toney is just ewww at that point, not a sick rebounder, not a sick scorer, and passing is worthless, mediocre handles, so what the hell is he doing going at 5, awful awful pick…oh, and SOLID INSIDE? Yuck. Kiki should be a great scorer, but Gminski seemed like a top 4 pick since he was gonna block some, score right away.
As for Insane, well, I mean, that’s just an amazing start to a rebuild, Isiah should be a stud, and McHale a scorer, taking a shot at getting two stars. Going PG/SF (that’s gotta be where McHale ends up), will be great for him.
12. You are leaving a bar after having a good time with the boys. BOYS NIGHT OUT! You see three GMs HAMMERED DRUNK leaving the bar in 3 different directions..... You have a tough time deciding which one to follow because you know if you follow any of them they will pass out on the street and you will be able to piss all over their faces, take a pic and tag it on facebook! Who are those 3 GMs and who is the one you ultimately follow!
Wtf is this question, why would I want to piss on anybodys face and post it to Facebook? Wtf is wrong with you Nanz? Is this what you think is fun? Jesus, Nanz, you scare me.
