1. Has Pig checked out of BBS? Is he out of options, or is he just not making the effort?
I really like pig but he rushed his rebuild and now needs close to a miracle. It isn't impossible but he has no real pieces to move. He has already moved some future firsts and moving too many is frowned on in cy years. He should try to get a bunch of articles and get those acs into his players. Denton/Hillman/Gale are all ok. I don't like Cal or Cazzie. If I were Pig I would trade for a Donnie freeman/chet Walker guy that can score a ton. Shouldn't cost much and he really needs a scorer. Run an outside offense and hope for the best. Maybe trade Cazzie and Powell for a good player/bad contract. Maybe Fred Carter or Willis Reed. Good luck Pig!!!
2. Tell me why you're a better GM than I am.
I just am. Deal with it. Lol. Who said I was a better gm than you ? If I were to make the argument I would say that I have gotten a lot better since I cut down on sim leagues. I used to be in 4-5 but I cut back to 2 leagues. I generally will do my best to win and don't look that much toward the future. If I were you I never would have moved Glock 2 yrs ago, you had a real shot at winning a ship and I don't know why you would pass it up. Of course maybe I would feel differently if I had already won a ship. I generally can get the players I want bc I seem to value players differently which on the one hand leads to my trades getting bashed but on the other hand makes it easier for me to get certain players. I generally can put together a solid dc with the players I have so I am usually competitive. One criticism I have heard regarding your style is that you are too intent on ripping off new gms.
3. What's something most GMs would be surprised to know about you?
I go to Uman every year for the Jewish new year. Pretty freaky place. We pay people to leave their houses and cram a bed into every corner. About 40,000 people went there last year. Total religious high. Kind of gives me the strength to get through the following year.
4. Most overrated GM?
Marty but I don't want him to whine again. Outlaw. I keep hearing how he used to be this great gm but I never saw it. He seems to have a very poor attention span. Maybe he just bit off more than he can chew this time. I don't know if anyone could have fixed the Suns but it looked like he had a good first year and then either got bored or couldn't get deals done. He really has shown very little since I have been here, definitely not living up to the reputation he still has.
5. Better GM: Nanz or DJ.
2 very good gms. DJ is in a very tough spot. He let his best player retire without trading him. He probably should have started a rebuild a couple years ago. I think that he held on to his team too long. That said, he has put together numerous good teams. Nanz is also a very good gm. He seems to be able to stick to a rebuild plan and bring it to fruition. I think that it is very close but I would take DJ by a hair.
6. Finish this sentence: this year's Milwaukee Bucks will _____.
Disappoint. I don't know why AAR put his head on the chopping block. Anything less than a championship would be considered a failure. He has willie and Bingo. He even has Buse – aka the best player according to Skillz. Also got Pistol. He has a ton of talent but I see him disappointing. Don't get me wrong he will be top 4 in the East but that will be far below expectations.
7. How did you get into sims? How many leagues are you in, and do any compare to BBS?
I don't really remember how it started. I was in 7-8 sims at one point last summer and that was crazy. I tried to pick different types of sims bc different rules present different challenges. I have cut out most of the sims and I am currently in only 2 leagues. The leagues are very different, bbs is a very fast paced sim with tons of activity and itp is a much slower paced league. I don't prefer one over the other but enjoy both of them in different ways. I tried a baseball league once which I never got into and a football sim which I really like but it shut down quickly.
8. Broph offers you Kermit for Gilmore. What do you do?
I like Kermit but I like Artis more. Artis has the rebounds and blocks. He also interferes less than Kermit in the offense and shoots better %s. And he has a better contract. Kermit is slightly younger so maybe he can still improve but all in all I would have to say no.
9. Does Phil Smith have top 40 value?
In my mind he does. I hope he has some value bc I will be shopping him soon. I really like Skeeter and Dunn so I don't know what kind of future he has on my team. Phil is a great defender and a great rebounder for a sg. He has a great mid range game. Big time ball thief. With a good tc he could be a star. A bad tc makes him a career backup. Does he have top 40 value? It comes down to his tc. He has to bump at least one of his scoring ratings.
10. Which GM's style do you like most?
I like Skillz. Just trade and trade until you find the right combination. The downside is that you can easily make one trade too many. Still it is a lot more fun than just sitting on teams making your cy and rebuilding again
