1. Martinez, you just traded World B Free and 4 picks for Jojo White. Did you overpay?

No, I don’t think so since I was offering more for other players and having those offers rejected or having ridiculous counters. Some examples were: World B. Free, Norm Nixon, a couple of picks for Menegelt – rejected, Dantley, Norm, cle 51+52 and that pick you just forfeited for Neal – proposed to me, Roundfield/Dantley picks for either of Hayes or Frazier – proposed to me.

Not saying any of those offers were horrendous, but one can make an argument that Jo Jo White is at the same level, if not slightly better than a lot of those guys, and I gave up much less.

2. What is your plan for the Cavs now? Is it finally time to compete?

I was going to compete last season but Dick Snyder didn’t help my team very much and I think a lack of a legitimate big man and a true big time scorer hurt me. I think Jo Jo White is definitely going to give me a huge boost. The development of Nixon in this TC is going to be key though. I think I can steal away a couple of solid bigs in free agency. Landing Kermit Washington would be amazing, unrealistic, but amazing nonetheless. I think Roundfield and Dantley are both due for a fairly nice TC after a lackluster last season. I think I should be a good team depending on free agency.

3. We just saw one of the biggest trading days in BBS history. Do you think Repole was dumb to get rid of Bingo this early?

I think it’s dumb anytime anyone completely dismantles a championship team without having to. Repole talks about having fun and this and that, but then runs his mouth off about Play and shit about how he wins longer than Play this and that. It’s dumb, you want to be the best? Why not try to beat the record of consecutive championships? Why not try to get every record available out there and prove that you really are a great GM.

I think everyone telling him that Repole is a gimmick winning with Bingo Smith finally got to him and now he’s going to try to prove that he can win without him.

4. Give me 3 GM's who came out as big winners from the draft/recent trades.

I’d say Aar, I mean he got Bingo and Willie with that you’re automatically a winner.

Then it’s repole, he got as many assets as one would think he should have gotten for Bingo and then some.

Then I’d say me, because I got Jo Jo White and still kept who I think are the better prospects in Roundfield and Dantley.

5. There's been a lot of discussion about this recently, but let's beat a dead horse: who is the better GM, Repole or Play? You ranked Repole ahead of Play in your GM rankings, but maintain PLay is a better GM. This has me confused.

Well, because championships and subjectivity are taking into account in rankings. Are we just going to ignore the fact that he’s winning titles because of a gimmick? No, are we to ignore that Play hasn’t done shit in quite some time? No, but I still think Play is the better GM, there aren’t many GMs who come away with a fucked up situation as Play was in and have his team relatively competitive. He’s still far from the GM he was but he’ll be back eventually.

6. You just called out Greeme after his article. Why are you a better GM than him?

I’m a better GM than him because I keep one direction. People forget that Greeme was on his way to 60-70+ wins one year and completely dismantled his team(I think it was one of his first season or two in the league).

Greeme calls me out for “always tanking” but he’s been to the playoffs a whole 3 more times than I have. I also have more 60 and 50+ win teams than he has ever had, this to me shows that while I may “tank” more than him, I still build much better teams than him. I also have a championship he hasn’t seen yet, would he have one or two if Repople didn’t have Bingo? Maybe, possibly, but we will never know. I still think greeme acting like he’s better than me, when at best, we’ve been as equally “average” is ridiculous and just another one of his numerous attempts at grasping for my attention.

7. What do you think Norm Nixon's ceiling is? What will his ratings be in 3 years?

I think I’m cursed with PGs, ever since dealing away Jacquez Knight back in the hay day(because I thought he was a bust) pretty much every PG I ever drafted was exactly that, a bust.

I’m hoping Norm Nixon will be a low to, high steals, efficient scorer. That’s all I can ask for.

8. If you could have one FA in this current class, who would it be and why?

Kermit Washington, he fills a huge need at the 5 and I think him and Roundfield together would be probably the best tandem in the league upfront. I don’t think I have any shot at landing him, but boy if I do, I think I automatically become a top 10 team as I should have no problem surrounding the team with depth.

9. Biggie just acquired Bill Walton from Repole and looks to be building a good team. Has he become a top 20 GM?

Biggie a top 20 GM? I mean, maybe, sure but he hasn’t been consistent at all lately and I think Repople kind of helped him out with that trade to be honest. He’s definitely much improved though but he needs to be more consistent like make the playoffs for 5-6 straight seasons and atleast get a Conference finals and/or finals appearance under his belt.

10. You are the GM of an NBA team. Which 3 BBS GM's would you want advising you on trades, transactions, etc.

To be honest, nobody because I don’t share anyone’s opinions but if I had to choose someone it’d have to be Spencer(does he count?) because well I ask for his opinions all the time and he’s technically running my team anyways. I don’t make decisions without him. I’ll be like Erik Spoelstra of Miami!
