BK WE GO HARD AT: AARON HABES
AARON GOING HARD!
BK WE GO HARD! LETS GO!
1. Theres no question your team is still very good, but without your picks how do you plan to stay competitive for the next 8 or so season?
I think I wrote about this elsewhere, but the subject is an afterthought. Aar getting my picks five, six, seven years from now is really of no moment. I think it's a matter of misplaced attention. I have no special plans because this is something I've done plenty of times before. If I think it's time to rebuild, I can get my picks back. But this is kind of a nice challenge to me - something I'll expand on in my next answer - so I guess my plans only differ from usual in that I'm planning to actually stay competitive for eight seasons. But I don't have a roadmap because I'm a good GM and I have valuable pieces and there's nothing difficult about avoiding the lotto under those circumstances.
2. What are your feeling towards Aar going after all of your picks? How many of them, if any, do you think will be lotto.
He should try this shit on some other GM I guess. He can maybe scratch out a late lotto or two here, but I also have enough to entice him to give me one pick, whether he acknowledges it or not, and that will undermine the value of the subsequent firsts. And hey, if he wants to be stubborn, it's summer. I can write articles, I can make the right deals. I won't deny that it's sort of lit a fire under me, and I should probably think of that as a good thing if it means I do a better job GMing.
3. This was brought up on a couple of articles... Who would you rather have Dr. J or ML Carr?
Dr. J. I don't think it's close and I love Carr. Dr. J's one of the best scorers around. Carr's offense is a plus, but it's not on par with Dr. J's. They both force a lot of turnovers and have mild handling issues. Carr's the better rebounder and he's a year younger, but this is pretty open and shut to me.
4. With Kermit having yet another uneventful TC this year, what do you think his value is now as he gets ready to play the final year of his rookie deal?
I don't think ratings matter for Kermit anymore. He probably has top-ten-and-climbing value. Shotblocking and midrange get him to superstar status. Preseason suggests the shotblocking's up, and if he gets the +10 midrange from this article and the freebie, there aren't many guys on his level. It's always difficult to adjust value when a guy's expiring, because unless you're in rough shape with the hard cap or have too many guys to re-sign, you have to be a pretty bad GM to sell low on that fact. Contract security is huge, but when do major young pieces go at discount rates?
5. There is no question that the Top 2 GMs in the league are Play and Repole. Rank you next best 5.
Skillz- His sustained success in this league is unmatched excepting Play.
DBW- In a rough patch right now, and he really shouldn't have left Minnesota, but he builds great teams with ease.
Broph- Great FBB knowledge, well-designed teams and depth charts. He can be stubborn, but he has a great sense of value.
Me- Willingness to overpay is a downfall. Otherwise I'm a hottie.
Nanz- I'll put him third overall when he wins in NJ. It'll take one or two aggressive moves to do so, and that's what he does best.
6. While on the subject, rank the lower 5 GMs in the league today.
5. Jay- Wildly underwhelming. Squandered so much talent, rebuilt early and unimpressively.
4. Andy- He's lost.
3. Biggie- Stinks.
2. Kobe- He's in BBS, not that you'd know it.
1. Dewayne- Promptly and predictably in his CY. Scared to make trades, does a poor job drafting, and isn't being aggressive with his spot on the line.
7. Call out one GM that should be fired TODAY for whatever reason. RIGHT NOW.
Kobe. He sucked his first time around, begged to get back in, and doesn't contribute.
8. Out of all the teams you've had in the last 2 versions of BBS, which one was your favorite? No necessarily the best but just the most fun.
My first championship team in this version. It was pretty surprising we were so good, especially coming off a one-year rebuild. And we had a lot of guys who didn't thrive before or after. Plus, Ray McCallum was my favorite player in this version, so I love that I was able to reacquire and finally win one with him. We also got past a really good Bulls team long before Repole became a better GM than Play
9. The 6ers and Bulls are going into their contract year...Who makes it and who doesn't? and does Dewaynec need to trade Gervin to make it?
The Bull obviously make it. Play hasn't made a major move yet, but he has awesome pieces and no doubt will pull the trigger if he needs to. Mullins was a big step; the Bulls badly needed a second option.
I don't think Dewayne will make it. Dawkins can't have a ton of value. Gervin is a massive piece, one who needs to go if Dewayne's going to make 40. And while he can probably get two very good vets back, Philly's biggest hole is at PG, and there aren't many guys out there.
10. What are you thoughts with all these GM Shakeups? Do you think its good for the league? or does it even impact the league in any way?
I don't really think it's had any impact. Hype's dead weight wherever he is. Marty's been less active with Cleveland, but he's also rebuilding, so give that a bit. I do think it'll be a lot of fun if he can build a winner in the East, because there are better GMs over there for him to irritate. CC sucks wherever he goes and sends horrible offers and should be banned. JK CC DON'T GIVE THIS A 1. Um who else is there? HF's a good active GM. I don't worry about where he goes, he'll still contribute. WELP.
11. Pick a player under 25 to start a team with today. Also, talk about the kind of team you would put around them if all you could get were non max players.
I'd get MRR. Can't argue with the ratings and that first TC. He's a huge PG who gets blocks and steals and rebounds very well. Scoring ratings tend to develop, and I'd pour ACs, RCs and freebies into him to make him dominant. Other young pieces are way ahead of him, but the PG class is so thin these days, and we all know how important PGs are. I'd go for stats defenders and inside scorers around him. Typically those guys carry nice rebounding and midrange. And it might be easy; inside scoring wings abound these days. I'm not saying it's my strategy to forego three-point shooting, and MRR even looks capable from three. But a PG like MRR gives you a head start on blocks, rebounding and inside scoring, and I can see him dominating in a slow and inside strategy. Obviously the midrange is a big concern, though.
12. So check it! You are going out to a bar and you need to bring 2 GMs with you to be your wing men. One of them is the cool guy who brings in the hot chicks, while the other one is the gay friend girls feel save with... Who are they!
My wingman is Phil. First off, he Keeps it Koloskalâ„¢. Also I just wanna meet the guy. Game no doubt the other eventhough he just came out and he might not be very girl friendly right now LOLZ jk
