This article will break down the top-50 players in BBS in terms of their trade value, taking into account their stats, ratings and contract. These stats are from before Day 71.
20) Walt Frazier
PG 30 6'4'' 200 B A- A A C C
38.9 mpg 16.6 ppg 4.5 rpg 11.8 apg 2.0 spg 0.3 bpg 1.7 topg .463 fg% .914 ft% .395 3p%
I think that his clothing choices and name value play a role, but Frazier remains among the elite point guards in the league.
He has an MVP award and a championship under his belt and is sacrificing stats this year to lead the Bobcats to 60 wins and the second best record in BBS.
He is an absolutely stellar player who any team would want as their starting point guard.
19a) Bob McAdoo
PF 24 6'9'' 210 A- C C B A- A
35.6 mpg 25.1 ppg 8.8 rpg 3.0 apg 0.9 spg 1.1 bpg 1.4 topg .488 fg% .832 ft% .217 3p%
McAdoo may also be a bit high on this list, considering that he's not an elite shot blocker, but at the end of the day, McAdoo is a great scorer and although his numbers don't indicate it, he's a solid rebounder, at least ratings-wise.
He will be a coveted free agent this year if he doesn't choose to re-sign with the T-Wolves and they'll look foolish if he leaves given the amount of their potential future that that they gave up for him.
McAdoo is one of those players whose value is higher than it should be because of his position and scoring output.
19b) Lloyd Neal
C 24 6'7'' 225 B- C C- A B+ B
33.7 mpg 15.3 ppg 10.5 rpg 1.2 apg 0.8 spg 3.4 bpg 0.8 topg .444 fg% .833 ft% .000 3p%
Lloyd Neal is one of the budding young stars in this league and you'd have to imagine what his stats would look like if he weren't playing next to Gene Moore.
Moore and Neal may be the best frontcourt in the league given their blocking and rebounding prowess.
If Neal declares for free agency, like McAdoo, he'll be an exceptionally coveted free agent and will easily earn a max deal.
He would be higher on this list if it weren't for the fact that he's expiring.
Note: The only reason I did 19a and 19b is because I miscalculated how many players I had on my list.
18) Derrek Dickey
PF 24 6'7'' 218 B C C- A- A- B
35.5 mpg 18.4 ppg 11.0 rpg 1.3 apg 1.8 spg 3.0 bpg 0.9 topg .450 fg% .784 ft% .000 3p%
Dickey would be higher on this list if he wasn't expiring. He is absolutely awesome defensively.
His scoring percentages could stand to improve, but he grabs rebounds, steals the ball and blocks shots.
If he can improve his scoring, he'll be Bingo Smith lite, which is more than you could expect from a 2nd rounder.
This is shaping up to be an incredible offseason for free agents.
17) Eric Money
PG 20 6'0'' 170 B- A- A- A- C A
37.9 mpg 14.4 ppg 4.6 rpg 10.7 apg 1.8 spg 0.1 bpg 3.9 topg .429 fg% .830 ft% .397 3p%
Definitely the most imperfect player in the top-50.
His percentages suck, he turns the ball over like crazy and he's not a great rebounder, but his promise is absolutely enormous.
At age 20 and only two TCs passed, Money can easily become a B A A+ A C C type point guard by the end of his rookie deal, which will make him a top-3 PG in the league.
I imagine that there are few players in the league that the Lakers would move him for, but if he were to consider it, it would have to be for one of the players ahead of him on this list.
16) Dan Issel
SF 27 6'9'' 235 A- B+ C B A- B
37.8 mpg 28.4 ppg 9.3 rpg 3.9 apg 1.2 spg 0.2 bpg 1.4 topg .478 fg% .862 ft% .415 3p%
The best scorer on the second-best team in the league earns a spot here.
Issel is an absolute stud and has grown so much as a player.
His percentages are fantastic, he grabs boards, he passes the ball and he limits his turnovers.
I doubt that he gets much better than he is now, but he really doesn't need to, he's proven himself to be elite.
He has yet to make an All-League team, but I have a feeling this is his year.
15) Norm Van Lier
PG 28 6'1'' 173 C+ A- A+ A- C C
36.8 mpg 11.3 ppg 4.9 rpg 11.9 apg 2.2 spg 0.1 bpg 2.2 topg .504 fg% .936 ft% .481 3p%
The highest-ranked point guard in the top-50 is Norm Van Lier.
He isn't scoring much, but with his percentages, he really doesn't need to.
There has only been one 70-win team in BBS history and the Magic are close to matching that feat this season.
If they do that, it will be largely in part due to the great play of Van Lier.
There's no other point guard, other than Al Skinner, that I'd rather have running my team.
14) Julius Erving
SF 25 6'6'' 200 A- A B A C+ A
37.7 mpg 24.6 ppg 7.6 rpg 5.1 apg 2.0 spg 1.6 bpg 2.0 topg .497 fg% .788 ft% .470 3p%
Yes, he's been considered overrated. Yes, he turns the ball over more than he should. But Dr. J. is having his breakout year on the heels of signing a max deal.
His averages and percentages are up nearly across the board and he's come into his own.
The Rockets would probably liked to have won more games this season with Dr. J. as their star, but they've got to be happy with his improvements.
13) M.L. Carr
SF 24 6'6'' 205 A- B B- A B A
37.8 mpg 22.5 ppg 10.0 rpg 4.8 apg 1.2 spg 1.6 bpg 2.0 topg .478 fg% .876 ft% .384 3p%
The better version of Dr. J. and a lock for Sixth Man of the Year, M.L. Carr will be the most coveted free agent this offseason should he choose to test the market.
Carr has also stepped up his game this season and the most unbelievable thing about his numbers - he's putting them up as a non-option.
Carr deserves more love. He's a stud.
12) Campy Russell
SF 23 6'8'' 215 B+ A- D+ A C+ B
34.9 mpg 22.7 ppg 7.7 rpg 1.1 apg 1.3 spg 0.1 bpg 1.1 topg .475 fg% .880 ft% .438 3p%
The Spurs aren't a very good team, but that's not Campy's fault. He's putting up great numbers and has established himself as a top prospect in the league.
People fret when they see D+ handles, but clearly it isn't affecting his turnovers, which are few and far between.
With a few improvements, Campy will be one of the top swingmen in the league and he's already helped the Spurs get a great return from their Artis Gilmore trade.
11) Marvin Barnes
PF 23 6'8'' 210 A- C D B+ B+ A
33.1 mpg 14.7 ppg 9.5 rpg 1.2 apg 1.1 spg 3.1 bpg 1.6 topg .465 fg% .721 ft% .333 3p%
One of my favorite moments when doing this list was when I was asked if Marvin Barnes would be on it.
Really Heatflash? Really?
Barnes is in his second year in the league and is priming to become a top big man. Once his turnovers cool down and he starts scoring with more regularity, he'll be a top-10 player.
He actually hits threes occasionally too, which makes him unique.
I think that next season will be a huge breakout year for him.

19a) Bob McAdoo

35.6 mpg 25.1 ppg 8.8 rpg 3.0 apg 0.9 spg 1.1 bpg 1.4 topg .488 fg% .832 ft% .217 3p%

19b) Lloyd Neal
C 24 6'7'' 225 B- C C- A B+ B
33.7 mpg 15.3 ppg 10.5 rpg 1.2 apg 0.8 spg 3.4 bpg 0.8 topg .444 fg% .833 ft% .000 3p%

35.5 mpg 18.4 ppg 11.0 rpg 1.3 apg 1.8 spg 3.0 bpg 0.9 topg .450 fg% .784 ft% .000 3p%
