FREE AGENCY FINDS
Possible offseason acquisitions if the player in fact chooses to test free agency. Class looks OK. Some top young talent but most of these players will choose to resign therefore it will be slim pickings for the teams with money to spend.
1 | Kareem Abdul-Jabbar | Bulls | C | 24 | $3,517,514 | Bulls | 7'2'' | 225 | A- | C- | D+ | A- | A- | B
The gem of this years free agent class is easy to find. KAJ has been a force since entering BBS. Coming off of his rookie deal he already has stud ratings in the main categories for a big. KAJ is currently carrying the Bulls to a 50+ win season. The ideal center is averaging 30 points, 12 rebounds, nearly 4 blocks+1 steal on very respectable percentages while limiting his turnovers. 2 | Jon McGlocklin | Magic | PG | 28 | $5,443,200 | Magic | 6'5'' | 208 | A | C+ | C- | B+ | C | B
McGlocklin is no longer the rage throughout the league. He has scaled back from averaging 35+ but is still a great addition for any competing squad at 28 years old. Jon's ratings arent the prettiest but his stats back up his game. 25/5/6 is what Jon puts up on the reg while maintaining over .520 fg%. McGlocklin is coming off his sweat-heart deal and I am interested to see if he resigns and if its in the same fashion. 3 | Elvin Hayes | Wizards | C | 25 | $3,447,164 | Wizards | 6'9'' | 235 | B+ | C | C- | A | A | B |
Hayes is up here because he is 24 years old. His play is good but not great for a big. Dont get me wrong I would love to add him in the offseason as 17/12 with 4+ blocks/steals a night is all desirable but wow at shooting .430 from the field in a mostly inside offense. I understand this is his first season at below .450 so well say its a fluke. I think he is going to catch up fast. 4 | Chet Walker | Celtics | SF | 31 | $18,000,000 | Celtics | 6'6'' | 215 | A | A- | C- | B- | B+ | C |
Walker may be 31 years old but he is still working the competition. He is nearly the perfect SF. Would like some more defensive stats but I think 34 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals on nearly .500 is just fine. He is having one of his best seasons in a few years. Coming off a recent trade and a large contract will Chet stay in Boston? 5 | John Havlicek | Bucks | SG | 31 | $21,000,000 | Bucks | 6'5'' | 209 | B | A+ | B+ | A | C+ | B |
Havlicek is also 31 and coming off a large contract. Havz has studly ratings and stats to match. Havz is the all purpose guard grabbing 7 rebounds, with 6 assists as well as adding nearly 30 points a game. After a slow start in his career Havlicek has been a stud and will be for years. 6 | Zelmo Beaty | Raptors | C | 32 | $13,973,000 | Raptors | 6'9'' | 235 | B+ | C | D | A- | A- | D |
Has Beaty's time to leave Canada come? Will Zelmo do the opposite of critics thoughts and offer to resign? His first change to test the markey left DJ with a smile due to a cheap contract. Beaty flourished into a dominate center. Zelmo is currently averaging 23 points, 12 rebounds with 4.5 blocks a game. His percentages could use some work but he can hit a free throw with the best of the bigs. A lot of teams hope Beaty will test because it is their only chance at obtaining this talent. 7 | Walt Bellamy | Cavaliers | C | 32 | $21,000,000 | Cavaliers | 6'11'' | 234 | B+ | C- | C- | A | A | C |
Walt Bellamy is one half of the once self proclaimed "best front court in BBS". I felt Bellamy has underachieved throughout his career. 12 rebounds a game is nice but hes only averaged over 20 ppg twice in his career. Also felt that he never hit his potential in terms of shot blocking never breaking the 3 mark. Still a nice player to add to any front court who historically shoots a high %. 8 | Gene Moore | Hawks | C | 26 | $3,244,443 | Hawks | 6'9'' | 225 | B+ | C+ | D+ | B+ | B+ | C |
Gene is finishing off his rookie deal at the age of 26. Hes averaging a double double with 3 blocks a game. He has very nice ratings and with a few AC's could have more A's than B's. How much will Gene more accept if he tests? Will it be a repeat Reggie Harding? 9 | Wes Unseld | Raptors | PF | 25 | $3,310,656 | Raptors | 6'7'' | 245 | B+ | C- | C+ | A- | A- | B |
Another Raptor with a chance to flee. Wes is an interesting talent. Hes got the ratings of a good big but lacks the shot blocking appeal. Wes is young tho, can score a bit, rebound and looks to play great D but just not stat defense. I am sure there will be a few bites on the chance that he progresses further. 10 | Zaid Abdul-Aziz | Bulls | PF | 25 | $2,992,571 | Bulls | 6'9'' | 235 | B | C | D | A- | A- | C |
See Gene Moore above. 11 | Warren Jabali | Pistons | SF | 25 | $3,378,220 | Pistons | 6'2'' | 200 | B | B | B- | B | B- | A |
Jabali came into the league with high hopes from the commissioner. Possibly restrained due to a roster filled with young talent. Warren has been fighting for playing time for his short career. He looks to be able to do it all with those ratings. Also looks to be a few AC's and a good TC away from looking great. Interesting to see how this offseason goes for Jabali and if he stays or if he goes. 318 Jack Marin SG 27 6'7'' 200 B+ B+ C+ B C C Better than Thornton. Has been doing nice things for the many teams he was on this season. Will be looking to compete with thornton on who will sign cheaper. 12 | Dallas Thornton | NOT MEMPHIS | SG | 25 | $600,000 | ?? | 6'4'' | 190 | C | A+ | A | A- | D+ | B |
Thornton was selected with the 1st pick of the 2nd round and immediately showed promise with a great TC. Again the next year he had a good TC. That outside rating looks great and would like to see him at PG. I dont know where he is being traded in the offseason but would like him to test. Honorable Mentions: There are a few young PG's who could help teams win. Some of which are getting very limited minutes. Other honorable mentions include older shot blocking centers/power forwards. Rich Jones is unique because he is putting up some great numbers but his team lacks talent so someones gotta do it. | Eldridge Webb | Raptors | PG | 25 | $2,874,065 | Raptors | 5'11'' | 185 | B- | A- | A- | B- | C | C | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Bill Buntin | Bucks | C | 29 | $5,122,285 | Bucks | 6'7'' | 253 | C+ | C- | C- | A | A | C | | Bob Kauffman | Rockets | C | 25 | $3,053,644 | Rockets | 6'8'' | 240 | B+ | C | C | A- | B | C | | Cleveland Buckner | Warriors | PF | 33 | $21,000,000 | Warriors | 6'9'' | 216 | B+ | C | C- | A- | B- | C | | Connie Dierking | Magic | PF | 35 | $25,628,906 | Magic | 6'9'' | 234 | A- | C- | D | A- | B | D | | Darrall Imhoff | Suns | C | 33 | $18,720,000 | Suns | 6'10'' | 220 | B | D+ | F+ | A- | B- | D | | Mal Graham | Knicks | PG | 26 | $11,000,000 | Knicks | 6'1'' | 185 | C+ | C+ | A- | B | C | C | | Marlbert Pradd | Mavericks | PG | 26 | $6,000,000 | Mavericks | 6'3'' | 173 | B- | A- | B+ | B | C | C | | Rich Jones | Trailblazers | SF | 24 | $2,080,242 | Trailblazers | 6'6'' | 220 | B | C+ | C | A | B | C | | Rick Adelman | Jazz | PG | 25 | $2,816,584 | Jazz | 6'1'' | 175 | B- | B- | A+ | A- | C | C |

I hope a few of these guys test! Especially KAJ. If not, it could be slim picking and another boring first day.

I still retain Thornton's birds if he chooses not to resign or Greeme doesn't want his contract.

Jack Marin should easily be above thornton and on Honorable Mention at least. Guy has been nothing but a stud.

KAJ, Glock, Havz, Zaz, Dallas, Rich Jones look to be all that chose to not resign. Maybe GMs will decline some of the older talents deals they offered and will enter FA anyway. Well see.
