This is the most stacked free agent classes in BBS history and there are several teams with the cap to make a big splash.
Let's rank the top-10 free agents on the market.
10) Julian Rooks PG 21 6'2'' 185 C+ A- C+ B C A
Rooks looks like a really nice second round pick and all season long, Insane was shopping him as someone with bird rights. Well, he had bird rights alright and used them to attempt earning a near-max deal. He's nowhere near worth the max, but he will likely get overpaid in free agency.
His rookie ratings as the last pick in the 2018 draft:
Julian Rooks PG 6'2'' 185 19 C B- C+ C+ C C
He's gone up leaps and bounds, but will anyone bite the bullet?
Projected contract: Six years, starting at $8 million
9) Terrico White SG 30 6'5'' 225 B+ A- B C C- C
There weren't many people talking about Terrico White this year, but he had a great season, putting up 29/5/4 and hoped to be rewarded with a three-year $50 million contract. It's doubtful that dj will go for that, especially since it would make a huge dent in his cap space and White is on the wrong side of 30.
Still, White should get some intriguing offers, despite never being an All-Star. If a team needs a nice scorer, White should be considered a solid option.
Projected Contract: Three years, $10 mil/year
8) Lorenzo Bunn PF 25 6'9'' 246 A- C+ C B- B- D
Bunn has always been a solid player, but nothing more. When the Rockets acquired him, they were hoping that he'd end up becoming a Josh Smith type, but he's fallen short of the mark and has become more of a Tyrus Thomas type.
Regardless, Bunn, at age 25, will garner some big offers and someone may even be ballsy enough to max him.
Projected contract: 6 years, starting at $9 million
7) Gordon Hayward SF 30 6'8'' 213 C+ A A- C+ C D
Hayward has always been a stud. His assist-to-turnover ratio is absurd and has averaged more than 21 and 6 for the last seven seasons.
The biggest question mark with Hayward is that his ratings have progressively been dipping and his defense is lackluster.
Those factors, combined with his age, will prevent him from getting a max deal, but he should be in that area code.
Projected contract: Four years, starting at $12 million
6) Ben Rollins SG 23 6'5'' 209 A- B C B- C+ C
Here's where free agency gets interesting...
The Bucks must have cringed when they saw not one, but two of their blue chip prospects test the market.
Rollins averaged close to 30 ppg this season, or if you ask Broph, nearly 40 ppg.
While his defense leaves something to be desired, he's a great rebounder, good passer and solid ball handler.
There's no doubt that he'll get multiple max offers.
Projected contract: MAX
5) Mitchell Jordan SG 25 6'6'' 226 A- A- C B- C- B
The Timberwolves future as a contender rests on the shoulders of Mitchell Jordan's free agency decision.
While I think that Rollins is a better player, Jordan's ratings make him slightly more attractive.
Jordan can also block shots and steal the ball very well, but he's a terrible rebounder.
His percentages indicate that he is a great mid-range shooter, but needs improvement from three.
It's obvious that, like Rollins and the rest of the free agents on this list, that he'll get a MAX deal.
Projected contract: MAX
4) Alf Sjoberg C 7'0'' 299 22 B C+ C- A- A B
Alf is awesome. He excels where it counts for big men, he swats shots with reckless abandonment and controls the boards. Normally, he would easily be the most coveted free agent in a class.
The most alarming thing with Sjoberg is that he had 99 loyalty and is still testing the waters.
My guess is that he's a shoe-in to return to the Bucks for a seven-year MAX deal and the Bucks will be thrilled to have him.
I expect that if he re-signs, nobody will ever offer what Broph wants for him.
Projected Contract: MAX
3) Perry Jones SF 29 7'0'' 230 A- A- A- A+ B+ C
How is perhaps the league's best player only #3 on this list?!? Once again, this free agent class is crazy.
The only reason that he's #3 is because he's 29 and his max deal will be over $100 million.
Whoever lands Jones will not be disappointed, even when he's 35 years old and making $25 million because his ratings are so stellar right now that there's no way he'll be useless at any time during a six-year or seven-year deal.
However, if the Magic give him a seven-year MAX, that contract could look very ugly on paper.
Projected Contract: MAX
2) David Walker PF 22 6'11'' 241 A- C D+ A B+ C
David Walker is a monster. He was the consensus #1 pick in his draft and not only is he a scoring machine, but he puts up huge percentages.
He is the closest thing to Tim Duncan that this league has had since Duncan himself.
Walker is only 22 and will likely get even better over the next few seasons.
There's no way that he's better than Perry Jones, but I'm sure that if you asked the teams with cap who they'd rather sign, Walker would be higher on the list.
Projected Contract: MAX
1) Jacquez Knight PG 6'3'' 192 22 A- A- A B+ C A
If Perry Jones isn't the best player in the league, Knight very well could be. Sick ratings, sick percentages, 22 years old and an incredible all around player.
He is the grand prize in free agency and whoever lands him will be elated.
