29. Detroit Pistons 10-39: Lets start with the worst team in the league. The Detroit Pistons have the worst record and are by far the worst team in the league. Andy has just begun his rebuild so the team is looking pretty bad at the moment. They have one promising prospect in Damontre Harris who looks like he will be a good shot blocking/rebounding big men in a league where they’re hard to come by. Even still having McCants on the roster won’t take this team out of the bottom.
28. New Jersey Nets 13-38: The Nets have a little more talent on the roster than the Pistons but not by much. Rudy Gay is playing out of his mind by far, having a career season. Nick Calathes is a very efficient point guard that many teams would like to have; I’m not sure why Jeff does not deal him for youth. Jeff really did badly trading Marc Gasol and Al Jefferson to the magic. He should have traded them separately but in the end what’s done is done. His team is not in good shape; well see how his off-season goes with a lot of cap space.
27. Indiana Pacers 14-32:The pacers have a few bright spots on this team with a promising backcourt. Brad Beal, Dan Davis and Brod Hayes all look to be solid contributors so far in their young careers. Though none are stars yet, a foundation is starting to be built in Indiana that has some promise.
26. San Antonio Spurs 19-27: The Spurs need to do a full on rebuild and get rid of Terrance Williams and the rest of these veteran players for youth and picks. Jah has started to assemble a nice group of young players in Evan Dickerson and Jalen Kendrick who will probably be on the Spurs for their entire careers but he still needs to make more moves than sit on these guys and build through the draft. Will he be proactive enough and makes moves? Yet to be determined.
25. Oklahoma City Thunder 19-29: The thunder have a great superstar in Ray and a good big man in Josh Smith but their aren’t enough pieces on this team to make them a threat of any kind. Aaron needs to add more pieces to have a shot at the playoffs because this roster won’t cut it. He does have a nice future with McCallum but how far can he go with no picks and little talent to trade.
24. Milwaukee Bucks 21-34: The Bucks have some great young prospects on their roster that is definitely the sign of good things to come for Milwaukee. Dez Ford is a top rookie in the league that had a good TC. With the addition of Reese from New York and Harrow at the 1 the Bucks are building something good. With two lotto picks for the upcoming draft the Bucks will add some more youth to this roster and really make these interesting going into next season and beyond as they look to compete.
23. Los Angeles Clippers 16-22: This team is only somewhat in ok shape because of star Jonas Valanciunas. He is carrying this squad to the cusp of the playoffs but it probably will not be enough. Marty gutted most of his roster though there are still a few players from his previous successful seasons. Boris Diaw has regressed a lot and is not the same player anymore. Though the team only bright spot is Jonas they have a lot of other contributors that make them a threat to upset anyone.
22. Portland Trail Blazers 20-27: Trading away Chris Kaman really hurt this teams shot of making the playoffs this year. With the threat of two rookies leaving to test FA and the hard cap right on the Blazers heels, GM Dan had to make a move to get rid of the 34 year old Kaman. The blazers will probably not make much noise this season though if he finds the right dc who knows. He still has some good players on the roster that make this team a threat to win on any night. He will need a center this offseason to compete next year though and another good tc.
21. Golden State Warrior 21-26: The warriors are a team with some good players on the roster but it has not translated to win. AK47, Melo, Teague and Mayo comprise of most of the starting line up but they still sit at 21 wins. While the offense is there for this team, the defense is horrible. I think game needs to make some moves to change up this roster, not necessarily rebuild just retool. He has the right pieces but he needs a shake up.
20. Cleveland Cavaliers 20-30: The Cavs are an interesting team. They started out pretty good this season compared to the past few but then hit a wall. Recently they acquired Demar Derozan, who is probably one of the best scorers in the game. He should definitely help this new gm take this Cavs franchise in the right direction. The cavs have some other solid youth and vets on this team but are not there yet. They need another off-season, draft and FA to keep building this roster. They have plenty of picks that if used right could trade to team up a player along side DeMar.
19. Atlanta Hawks 17-26: I believe the Hawks are rebuilding but I don’t know why. I think they’re a move or two away from being a good playoff team. They have Quentin Derrick and Evans in the back court, which is damn good by the way. Up front they have Black Griffen, Bogut and Honeycutt. This team has some real solid pieces, it hasn’t translated to wins but if they figure out how they can fix their defense they will be a threat in the east.
18. Utah Jazz 24-29: The jazz have the 9th seed and are on the verge of getting into the playoffs. The Roster comprises of Nique Jones and super star Kyle Irving who is having a monstrous year by the way. If you didn’t notice check out the roster. He is putting up 27 points on 10 assists, 2 steals 1.7 turn over on 50 percent shooting from the field. I guess he has been nasty for a while I never noticed though. Kyle is caring this team to the playoffs, which will help Scott figure out which way to go with this team.
17. Washington Wizards 20-24: Like the Jazz the Wizards are in the 9th seed and 1 game back of being in the playoffs. This team has some bright spots in 21 year old Jordan Price, who is putting up 25 ppg on some very efficient percentages. The Wizards always have veteran point guard Rajon Rondo who seems to have been wasted away on these Wizards teams. The Wizards need to have a full on rebuild and gut this roster while keeping Price. They will not do much in the playoffs if they make it. They have their picks. Just end this mediocrity.
Will do the playoff teams in a bit! Enjoy.
